Ok, so after that completely snide answer, I decided I should go find the last topic about this subject. So have a read.
... yea ...

the thing is it would be harder on the site's bandwidth and well it's not like we got google paying all of our bills here.

what

How is downloading an AMV (a.k.a. streaming) any more bandwidth intensive than, you know, downloading an AMV? This would only be the case if people who are planning to watch a certain video multiple times, stream these videos each time. In which case it would be more convenient for them to archive these videos anyway.

Well, not like I care about this either way. I "stream" most AMVs I download anyway by opening the partial download in MPlayer. Thanks for the link though LivingFlame, I got a laugh out of the people who said stupid things like "I'd pay for it not to be implemented".

Streaming previews reduce the hassle* that's required for someone to view an AMV on this site. I believe that this is mainly a good thing. It will allow AMVs to be shared more easily and widely here at the .Org, resulting in more people watching more AMVs and hopefully injecting new energy into this hobby.

* Of course, "less hassle" also equals "less commitment." I'm sure somebody will think of arguments against streaming video whereby reduced commitment will somehow lead to the hobby's eventual destruction.

Didn't you just do that yourself?
