What's easier to use?

Post by Hedgehog661 » Sat Oct 11, 2008 10:46 pm

I'm looking to enter a AMV contest at my school and it has a like video/sound lab with computers with basically every video/image/sound editing program and I was just wondering what program is better for making AMV's and which one would be easier?

Adobe Premier or Sony Vegas?

Also is Adobe Soundbooth good or should I use something else?

sorry just realized theres also Magix Movie Edit Pro as an option ^^; sorry for the super vague, annoying question.

Any help would be much appreciated

I suggest you download demos of them and try them yourself. Opinions will always vary on which is 'easier' or 'better.'

And Soundbooth probably won't help you much; it's only for editing audio, hence the name.

Personally, I use both Premiere and Vegas. I prefer the workflow in Vegas, but as far as AMVs go, I wouldn't really say either one of them is 'better' than the other. It just comes down to what feels more comfortable for you.

Though I do highly prefer Vegas over Premiere if I need to do any masking. If you need to do masking/rotoscoping for a project in Premiere, you pretty much have to take it into something like Photoshop, the GIMP, or AE.

Windows Movie Maker with lots of XMLs.

Or if you're feeling lucky, try Adobe After Effects. :awesome:

Once a long time ago, I started learning XML just for that purpose, but eventually I just said "screw it" and bought Vegas. |:>
