I need help on how to get rid of interlace

In Vegas i render my video as "Video for windows (AVI)" but it makes my videos interlaced. I though i knew how to get rid of it....but it didnt work. So now i need help. Can someone give me some advice here. Thank you.

go to the "custom" settings and uncheck "interleave video"

Or if youre compressing in VirtualDubMod--Video---Filters--add---deinterlace---OK

they asked how to fix it in Vegas though O.o
it's better to fix it before you get to the Virtualdub Mod stage... trust me.
