How Do I Make [Not To Sure What The Effect Is Called]
It looks like circles that pan out. Kinda like ripples after a drop hits water. Rotoscoping? I don't think that's it, though. I wanna make circles that pan out then ripple. Err, more to the point....make it look like a drop hit the screen and the screen ripples as the circle fans out, with an image from my next clip starting in the circle as the image where the circle fan's out, slowly ripples away and is replaced by the scene inside of the circle. It would help If I knew what the effect was called and how to make it. I recently reformatted my computer, but saved my project files. However, I have not installed Photoshop or AE back onto my compy yet, but I have re-installed Vegas. Is there any way I can do this effect in Vegas? If not, tell me what I need to do or have installed and the steps needed to make this effect. Thanks in advance for the help, and sorry for the lengthy description.

I don't believe there is on. But who uses Premiere's transitions anyway.JaddziaDax wrote:now i could be wrong, but isn't that one of the transitions in premiere?
i could be wrong though I haven't messed with premiere in a long time.
The ripple might be something you would have to make in Photoshop and After Effects. Won't swear though.

No, she is right. I downloaded the Premiere CS3 trial and it had a ripple effect or transition. Not sure which it is though.Krisqo wrote:I don't believe there is on. But who uses Premiere's transitions anyway.JaddziaDax wrote:now i could be wrong, but isn't that one of the transitions in premiere?

I vegas you can make a new video track, set it to "multiply", and then put on a black solid over it. Add the cookie cutter effect, change it to circle, and then give it a white border. Keyframe it getting bigger to to get the ripple. If you want to use a dark color instead, make the solid white and set the track to "add".
