I'm ashamed to say that Clannad is beginning to bore me.
There is only one way for me to describe the two recent mini-arcs. Filler.
At this point, I'm just waiting for the end, and maybe a Kyou arc to make up for the lack last season.

Though, this did make me lol hard.

Holy shit, the episode was varying degrees of awesome for me.

So far we've been dealing with a few of the characters that didn't get much screentime from the first season, and thus far I have enjoyed each separate arc thoroughly, I find it better that they've split each arc into 2 episode slots instead of what they did with the previous season where arcs were uncontrolled. Yukine's arc has been the most emotional for me so far, though both the previous arcs (Sunohara/Mei and Misae/Shima) have been in no way inferior. Still, this is probably just a bias since I love Yukine as a character, her and Sunohara are honestly two of the best side characters I've seen in anime.

On another note, I was really surprised at just how brave Tomoya is when the time arises for him to be so. It also struck me as quite a shock when Sunohara actually accepted the duel challenge. I knew that they were reasonably courageous from Mei's arc, but this just further emphasized the fact.

From the preview, looks like we'll be moving onto Ryou's arc next episode.

Not really filler since they actually have proper routes in the game, it's just dealing with developing a number of the other characters from the first season, though I guess some people might be getting impatient for the final Nagisa route.

Yeah I was just about to say that. Yukine was one of my favourite characters from Clannad and I'm happy they included her story arc in the anime. Personally I'm glad that Kyo Ani is staying true to the original game instead of skipping everything and just doing the Nagisa arc which is only a part of the After Story. That was done in the movie. Can't wait for the next episode.
