5 Centimeters Per Second ripping..
Alright, so. I've been trying to rip 5cps for about forever now. I'm using DVD decrypter.
When I load the disk in and click DVD decrypter, this error message pops up:
I just ignore it, and go about whatever I was doing.. At first, the process took forever, and I realized that a bunch of bad cells were placed in the chapters, so I had to filter all of those out.
Finally it started ripping a lot faster, and at 98% I got another error..
So, yeah, that's my problem. I have no idea what to do.
Also, if anyone is familiar with this DVD, the disk has like a million chapters each 22 minutes long or so. I have no idea what the actual anime movie footage is, so if anyone could help me out with that as well it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so, so much in advance. ><

One simple way to get rid of that first warning is to flash the drive's firmware so it's region-free. Doesn't change the disc's region coding (Region 3? According to Wikipedia, that's Southeast Asia; South Korea; Non-mainland China (Taiwan); Hong Kong - honestly the inclusion of Hong Kong worries me).

The method used is different for different drives. A Google search with your DVD-ROM drive's model number and 'region free' or some such should bring up the results. Just be aware of the fact that firmware flashing has the potential to break a drive if done incorrectly, so make sure that you've found a reliable solution before attempting it (or the money to replace or patience to fix the drive if it goes wrong).

Not necessarily. Bootlegs are usually region 0 (or All Region), and there is a legitimate Region 3 release of 5cm/sec, from Proware Multimedia International Co., Ltd.AaronAMV wrote:Bootleg?
