I thought it was for when you wanted to save only a segment of the video? I remember it working last time I attempted it. *Used in and out points so she wouldn't have the whole thing*Purge wrote:why are you using "save segmented avi"????????? - thats for when you append different video sources in vdub
Regardless, doing it the other way still didn't work.

If you have AVISynth on your computer than do the following.Darksong17 wrote:
I have no idea how to use AVI Synth honestly, even after trying to read about it.
1) Open Notepad
2) Type the following
AVISource("Pathtovideo/videoname.avi")
3) Go to File->SaveAs
4) Name the file something and type .avs at the end
5) Click save and you have a avs file.
6) Import avs file into VDub
7) Profit???

I must have done something wrong because VirtualDub won't take it.

change the part that says "pathtovideo" to the actual path to where it is on your computer

^What she said.
For example, my Shugo Chara footage is on a Hard Drive lettered "I" in a folder named "Backup" with the file named "Shugo Chara 1.mkv." So it would end up looking something like:
AviSource("I:\Backup\Shugo Chara 1.mkv")

Feeding it to it with AviSynth seems to have done the trick! I was able to put the footage into Adobe. Thanks!

Wow, I just don't get this. It worked for that video, but now it won't work anymore again even with avisynth. When I try to make an .avs file, VirtualDub won't take it. I get an error code.

Is it also a DivX file or something else?
Yeah, more DivX stuff.
Exact error:
Avisynth open failure:
AVISource autodetect: couldn't open file 'C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/Desktop/Anime Episodes/Soul Eater - Clean Opening 1'
Erroer code: 2
(C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/Desktop/Opening.avs, line 1)
