For reasons beyond my control (my computer will not let me) I cannot post a screenshot right now. So you get hints.

This series began screening in 1996, and there is one movie attached to the series (which was not as good as I had hoped. Apparently the games explain the story better though. *shrug*) The protagonist has brown hair.

By the way, all previous answers were wrong.
