Usopp/Sogeking - With a thousand lies and a good disguise

Post by Vigilluminatus » Fri Dec 19, 2008 11:41 am

This just had to be done - One piece's Usopp and The Offspring-song "You're gonna go far, kid" are just made for each other.

The amv is actually just a combination of three fights with Usopp ("thousand lies")/Sogeking ("good disguise") participating. There's the usual stuff in it, transparent background-cutted characters and much lip-sync. Might even be too much lip-sync, but decide yourself. And some subtitles at the "with a thousand lies"-parts.

The more I watch it, I think that The Offspring are One-piece-fans. Have fun!

Interesting .... very one piece. It was a strange mix of comedy and seriousness. Lip was pretty good, masks weren't terrible, but the edges could have used a bit of find tuning.
Good taste in music :D

Nice! a Usopp tribute^^

The pace was surprisingly good, and the lipsynch wasn't bad. Music 8-). I quite enjoyed the lyric sync

...yeah the quality was pretty bad... and I would give you some tips for masking, but I use the GIMP, and you said in the description that you used Paint.NET. However, most image editors have some sort of path/pen tool to help with masking, which can be especially useful when combined with edge-strokes or minor edge-feathering... basically anything to get rid of those jagged edges. Aside from that, really good work.

I hope you do not mean the overall video quality since I used the best episodes I had... and I tried to keep the quality. Sure, if you mean the quality of the masks, you all told me.

Thanks for the edge-feather-tipp, I'll try to find that for the next one. It was my first try with Pain.NET.

yeah, mostly just the masks. I suppose the overall video quality could have been cleaned slightly with avisynth, but for the most part it was fine.

I really liked the concept, and if anyone deserves a character profile, it's Sogeking :P
Mask edge issues were already mentioned, but other than that great job!

That was a really decently made video. While I think you have some room for improvement, I enjoyed it quite a bit nonetheless, and you definitely used some the best episodes involving Usopp in the entire series. The overall concept was also pretty well executed. Good job!
