Re: How long does it take you to make an AMV?
Like a famous artist said, "my art is never finished," or something to that extent. I forgot who said and how that person said it, but my meaning behind the saying isn't probably the same as the person who said it :/
But yeah, I settled for less, so not long enough. On my past AMVs at least. I haven't finished the recent ones I been working on, but then again I haven't worked on them for very long either.

Generally between 50-90 hours depending on the length of the song and the complexity of the concept.

Well, I completed my first LAMV on Monday night, and that was basically 17 hours of straight editing.
I could have made it better, but meh. The song was also only two minutes long.

Mine usually take me a week to do an AMV, but since my editor messed up my "Bleach" footage (again), I have to re-split everything. It also depends on if I get editor's block and can't figure out where to go with the song.

Re: How long does it take you to make an AMV?
For me it usually depends on the length of my AMV and/or what I want to do with it (effects, masking, layering, lip sync, etc).
The time to make my AMVs could range anywhere between an hour to 2 or 3 months
Of course, flat-out laziness sometimes plays a part with how long it takes me to make AMVs as well.

Re: How long does it take you to make an AMV?
I want to know how people work that fast! Please, tell me!
My last video took me about 70 hours, over about 3 weeks. Do you people mean 2 days as in... start to finish in a weekend? or 2 days as in 48 hours over the space of like a month?
The video before that took me 400 hours over about 10 months. (Though my mobo caught fire in the middle of the project, which slowed the proceedings down somewhat.) And that one's bad enough that I don't even want to upload it.
Maybe I'm just slow.

Re: How long does it take you to make an AMV?
for me making a video in a short amount of time usually has these factors:
1. having a solid concept/idea of what you are trying to convey with your video way before starting the project
2. being very familiar with your source and knowing where to find specific clips
3. willing to just "go with the flow" or compromise and laying down clips that just "feel right" rather than searching for hours on end for a clip that doesn't exist
4. having minimal effects
5. having the source already on your hd
6. having a relatively short source (12 episodes or shorter)
