Reading some existenntialism stuff in World Lit for classes, and I'm liking it so far. We just finished War Poetry, and I could have seriously passed on those. We also read some very interesting Japanese Literature (Aguri by Junichiro), which I did get into.
Personally, I'm still neck deep in MElody Carlson novels, although I've finished half of my collection.
I'm next going to re-read the Twilight series, in anticipation for the upcoming movie. :O

Re: What are you reading?
I just read the first three chapters of the Higurashi manga with Oto on aim...
... it was kind of entertaining, in a "omg must stay alert because I JUST KNOW the manga is trying to lull me into a false sense of security" kind of way.
Sometimes, it succeeds. T__T

No idea, I haven't seen it (nor, afaik, has Jasper).godix wrote:How does it compare to the anime?
It is, however, good so far. I don't like some things in it, but it does do the lulling-into-security part well. Just that I hope it doesn't abuse some of the devices that it keeps repeating (like the whole - "this shit is bad" - "oh phew, that wasn't so bad after all" - CREEPY STARE - "OHFUCK" cycle).
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Re: What are you reading?
Even if they do keep abusing that cycle, simply tacking on "GAH MAKE IT STOP" - "okay, it's back to being tame now" - "NO WAIT IT'S NOT ASDF" to the end will probably still get me every time.Otohiko wrote:Just that I hope it doesn't abuse some of the devices that it keeps repeating (like the whole - "this shit is bad" - "oh phew, that wasn't so bad after all" - CREEPY STARE - "OHFUCK" cycle).

Re: What are you reading?
If it's like the anime the ending is anything but 'it's back to being tame' although each story arc starts off as tame and builds up to just plain fucked up.
