I watched the first season of Clannad already and I start to watch the second season and I talked about this very good.

actually ketchupman that's incorrect if you pay attention you find out

that shinohara marks the one month anniversary of her death and her child is stated as 5 year old. she goes into a coma for the time between her child's birth and her death or so that was assumed.

Ive just finshing watching the movie.

Though from the way the hospital scene develops it does seem like she dies right then and there but the characters add timbits to contradict that story. they even say that it " I wanted to check up on you i hope your not depressed again".

there seems to be a contradiction or maybe the timeline jumps. I really dont know so we could both be right

Just went to watch that part again.....While Tomoyo is preparing food for Tomoya she says

"I hear you haven't stopped by the Farakawa Bakery lately. Ushio-chan is all grown up now." Then sunohara comes in and remembers that today is the 24th and its the one month anniversary of her death.

I still think it could be that the timeline moves forward and he goes five years through his depression but i don't think so.
