Boochsack is Cracking Down on AMVs, audio wise, that is!

My 'Yuki.N,' the lone video I had uploaded to YT was pulled yesterday. I had been expecting it since the fallout with Warner, who owned the musical rights. My understanding was the pulling of their legitimate stuff was also to include a sweep of the fan made videos.

Still, no skin off my nose. It served its purpose. The added audience draw plus it was my first .mp4 and I was worried about playback issues among viewers. Those issues never came though, and it hadn't drawn a new viewer here in awhile so all in all, I think I'll live.

hey guys. i'm sure i'm not the latest victim in this, but i just got the word that the rough cut to my amv just got blocked. the following text is the email was sent to me by boochsack.

YT took down my latest Vid because of audio , but I still can find a few vids on YT with the same song, but it doesnt really matter that much to me

Hm, after I uploaded my Speed Racer vid ebutuoy flagged it for the audio content, and a few days later they blocked it from playing in select countries. Is this their fist step in completely removing your video?

about 4 of my videos have been taken down, I had my account for 3 years or so (Made it in 05). Lost one of my videos forever because I wasn't able to back it up in time, they have warned me.

It's kind of depressing really because AMV's are about the only things I enjoy on YT the rest of it is covered with people ranting and other pointless videos that don't capture my eyes/ears.

From someone who found this site through youtube in the first place, I must say this issue definitely destroys the many creators who joined that site in the first place. More the reason why we have a-m-v.org.

What many users here say is that not only their vids were removed, but other amvs on youtube still exists. Apparently, since it possibly may be a random catch, to tell ya the truth, I have favorited many amvs on youtube and they are still there. None of them have been blocked.

It's a good thing someone brought this issue up because not only I haven't made a single AMV, yet, I plan to upload them somewhere. This is the place for me!!!

Oh, the hysterical irony that is Boochsack. It allows Seether, Creed and Amy Lee, and Evanescence songs, I just checked the AudioSwap. At least you can put them there. But not here.
