File size clearly isn't the issue anymore these days. So I really don't see why we should settle for this level of quality.

Because in this particular case no matter how large the file you make the quality won't change. I'm sure if you're shown the uncompressed version of this vid you won't be able to tell it from this compressed version. You may ask the author for some screenshots from the uncompressed version if you do not believe me. Overspending bitrate for nothing isn't the way of ex-USSR AMV-makers

If you are seriously telling me that the video looks almost exactly the same uncompressed. Then I am extremely disappointed in neko lover. Cutting down on bit rate because something looks shitty only makes it look worse. Filters like grab2fun would have done wonders for this video's banding issues. I just cant see how someone could let this slide. Especially a ex-USSR AMV maker should know better. Granted that last statement was coated in a very thick layer of sarcasm.

Ok on some points the quality was not the best, i mean video quality, but i think the others talked about it already. And the video was really nice, good trailer which i really like.

Yeah, I was serious.

Cutting down on bit rate because something looks shitty only makes it look worse.

The same thing again... Look, it's not "cutting down", ok? It's "constant quality" mode which only uses as much bitrate as needed for the encoded vid to look almost like the uncompressed one (its not mathematically lossless, but visually lossless).

Filters like grab2fun would have done wonders for this video's banding issues.

Never heard of it, I personally use gradfun2db. Hope neko lover will read this statement and starts using some filters )
