Re: The Idiots Guide to Vegas
for all of these methods you need to DISABLE the re-sample on clips you change the speed of.
There are several ways to change the speed of a clip
1. size the clip to where you want then hold down the "ctrl" key and size the clip to how long you want it to be, this will keep your clip how you want it, but change the speed of playback.
2. right click on the clip and choose envelopes and choose Velocity and a green band will appear on the clip. (with this method I find it best to put your line where you want the clip to end, and watch the preview screen until you see where you want the clip to stop at)
3. right click on the clip and choose properties and change the playback rate - probably the most difficult way to change the speed of a clip.

.... AND SHE COMES BACK AFTER TWO YEARS.
Yes, I know the web version of the tutorial is down -- that's because home girl didn't pay her hosting bill for two months and the site got wiped out ... on top of that her HD went KAPLOW and she lost the original HTML files.
I will probably redo the tutorial and post it up again and stuff.
Maybe update it, I dunno. I honestly don't think there has been any SIGNIFICANT changes in Vegas from the Tutorial 2 yrs ago and now.

Ok so Vegas has been updated to 9.0 now, I was wondering whats a good alternated way to use the "velocity" function that they took out?
Also how to know to render it to a certain MB in .mpg format while still keeping it's quality?

Re: The Idiots Guide to Vegas

Re: The Idiots Guide to Vegas
the thing is, sometimes, I need the clips to be regular speed, and then stop, or faster, at certain times, and then have a different speed altogether. So I don't think that helps =|

Re: The Idiots Guide to Vegas
hey guys, I have a very annoying problem atm and can't get it fixed ;;
i have 2 different footage, one is from an outside program with a texture (which i edited in photoshop to the size 720 x 480)
and exported it into vegas, but it won't stretch to the size of my project, instead it stays small...
i can solve this in motion track, but don't tell me that's the only way to make your footage fit your project settings.. (currently: 720 x480)
its a very annoying problem, and ive already tried messing with all the settings in the crop-window, all i can do is drag it around a bit..
im sick of reading the vegas tutorial, i can't find the problem, maybe i have something turned on that keeps the dementions of my original footage, but since i scaled it to 720x480, there shouldn't be any problem right?...
help please ; ;
