I heard Gateway has better deals then Dell...if that helps any. You can always build your own

I had mine custom made for me. God I love me comp ^_^ It's upgraded to hell. If you want my advice I say get a Pentium 4 cuz that way you won't have trouble with Premire.
Get at least an 80 gig hard drive. You'll need all that space for makin' vids.
And don't go with a Dell.
Hmm...can't think of anything else right now.
Good luck ^_^

Alienware sucks.
My dad custom builds all of our computers. For example, he just got me new parts.
AMD Athlon XP1700+ (Thoroughbread Core)
Abit KG7-RAID
512MB PC-2100 DDR266MHz Kingston
AOC Copper Shim for AMD Athlon / Athlon Tbird / XP / Duron
Thermaltake's Volcano 7 Cooling Fan / Heatsink
Thermaltake's "Active" Memory Cooling Kit
Cost around $250-$300. All parts off of eBay. Plus I have:
120GB Western Digital 8MB Cache 7200RPM - $130 off of eBay
40GB Western Digital 2MB Cache 7200RPM $80 at Sam's
Creative Labs Riva TNT2 32MB AGP - $65 off of some I-net store
I/O Magic PC-PVR TV Tuner / Capture Card PCI - $50 off I/O Magic Store
CTX CRT Flat-Screen 17" Monitor - $200 at Sam's
Mini ATX Case - $50 off of eBay
Artec Lansing AVS300 Speakers - $35 at Sam's
HP 9500i CD-RW (12x8x32) - $200 at Sam's
Sound Blaster PCI128 - $35 or so off of eBay
Internet Keyboard Pro MS - $50 at Sam's
Intellimouse Explorer Optical - $50 at Sam's
Add all of that up, and I have about $1200 in this thing, plus my orignal motherboard and chip (AMD 450MHz and Tyan mobo) so add another $150 on, plus my old old eMachines mobo and chip (AMD 333MHz and some crappy mobo with monitor and all that for $500, was a complete PC by the way) so I have around 2 grand invested in my l33terz DV editing systemz.

Hmm....not to add anything but if you have the cash why not buy a Falcom Mach V instead? It has some of the fastest machinery under its shell but of course it is designed for gaming, not specifically movie making.SSJVegita0609 wrote:If you have lots of $$$ buy alienware
My Suggestion:
Any cpu with above a gig
256 ram
120 gig
video capture card
fast internet card
more as you like or hav ethe moeny for
