Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

That's partly due to the song I think. Let me ask you Kevmaster, for my own interests, what is your favorite type of music? Feel free to list a few bands if want.

-- How my question is related to my critique: I think this song is neat because it has an ambiguous feeling to it Although the tempo doesn't change, the phrasing does. It starts out calmly, builds up, but doesn't resolve and seemingly starts all over again (due to the fade out). For that reason, I believe this song could be taken many different ways. It could be seen as an epic tribute of some sort, a never-ending journey, or it could just produce feelings of boredom. The editing fits pretty well I think. The problem I have with the amv is due to the feeling of "never-ending" I get from the song. Clearly you build up the movie's story as the music reaches it's peak, except visually you placed the climax scene at the songs point of denouement (at least in my opinion). Other than that, I enjoyed this. I always hear that people don't enjoy this movie, but I like it because it's a little different for some reason. Nice Job!

I'm pretty sure the song is not the issue.

This made making this video entirely worth it. Not enough newer editors get into older sources like X, which is a shame because they miss out on such great animes.
I'm a fan of older animes, but I must say that I think the X movie is absolutely horrible. It surely has great animation and is a good looking editing source, but the movie may be the most boring I ever watched.

EDIT: Hooray for clicking quote instead of edit.

Pwetty cool man, Pwetty cool.
Didn't like the ending much seemed a tad sudden, but in all general I liked it.
Solid editing with a good mood to it, good job

Well as for the ending, the song fades out, not too much I could do about that =p
