I've been using my skills whenever someone at work needs video work done. Not so much at my new job but I did video capture and editing at my last place once a month or so.

The new site looks great btw.

Congrats!

Unfortunately AMVs have probably damaged my career by distracting me away from the lines of research and work where I should really be focusing. Not that I don't have fun with them, but at the end of the day they are just a way to blow time for me :(

Nothing...my job doesn't have any connection with AMV's. I was hoping to parlay my AMV career into a spot on Carlos's film crew but he couldn't use me.

So far it's given me the skills to complete small freelance jobs for extra cash in my free time. It's also advanced me into high ranking positions at conventions that I wouldn't have had without my AMV experience (though moving up in these organizations is based more off of my other skills.) So... a little bit.

Absolutely nothing at all, well, nothing yet...

Although being a member of the .org keeps me in tuned with the on-going advances in multimedia, least with the video aspects. But I must say, being an employed graphics designer, the roto-scoping portion of the whole video editing process does help me somewhat.

Also, just working in any Adobe software helps in general.

But when the day that there needs to be a video edited at my current job comes, I'll be able to! :| But until then...

It's gotten me into courses that I wouldn't have been able to reach with just my high school diploma. And the medium has learned me enough over the years for me to get ambitious with my career. So once I stop being lazy I should hopefully get some more stuff going. But thus far Amv's have made me a very privileged person for both school/career as well my social life.
