Not yet, I live about an hour away from him :(

If I can find work in the LA or Hollywood area, we'll arrange something.

what amvs have done for me? Idunno... I just use them as a hobby. I guess they've really done nothing for me but waste time and money lol.

I did some little project in video production before I came to the org. after that I never made one(until like 3 weeks ago for that BoomBoom CD contest thing). AMVs have also landed me a high ranking place in a new Anime convention scene, with the hopes of opening several more cons over the next year or two and getting paid for it would be nice but all that is still in the works. More or less I hang here for the peps I can talk to at con from time to time.

When I become a famous film editor, I want to tell people instead of going to film school, I learned it all by editing DBZ clips.

My love of amvs has lead me to pick up Digital Cinema as my 2nd major (my 1st major is game development). I took my first editing class last quarter and made an AMV for my final project. My teacher was extremely impressed and looked to all the other students and said "this is what I'm talking about". The funny thing is that the video was still below my own standards (hence why it hasnt been released). Another thing is that it really has pushed me academically with Digital Cinema classes. Because of the knowledge I've gained from making AMVs, I have a strong motivation to do better with my education. It's to the point where I've become secretly competitive with everyone in my editing classes, but not in a way that I want them to do worse. I just want to do better through raising my own standards and doing the best that I can.

AMVs gave me the skills to incorporate video into my larger presentations and events successfully and with great effect. Deals have been won, audiences swayed.

Sidebar: Even though I haven't finished many AMVs I play with live action, and the technologies in general, quite a bit.

Sounds like AMVs play a pretty significant part in our accomplishments. Except for MJ. How those fishheads working out there MJ?
