Re: Kero being upgraded this weekend.
Well, once I finally get the MD5 mess sorted it, it'll take over a day to copy the videos back. So, this is going to be end-of-week at earliest. Might — though I sure hope not — wind up being very early next week.
I will definitely post here (and, indeed, to the news on the main page) when downloads are available again. After downloads are back, it'll also be a while (another week or so) before uploads are back.
Sorry for the lack of twitter updates, just posted one now summarizing this message.

I'll put in a *no* vote for Twitter.
Most of those services compromise peoples' privacy and anonymity to some degree or another.
Personally, with the exception of this site and exactly two others, I draw the line at "Login" / "Password" + cookies required, or Javascript. If I hit any of those, I'm *out.* So I'm not on LinkedIn or Facebook or Google-anything.
Basically, outside of the three particular exceptions, I treat the Internet like CB radio in the 70's:
- Anyone can buy and use the equipment,
- While you broadcast and listen, nobody really knows or care where or who you really are,
- don't do stupid stuff like broadcast personal information or your credit card numbers over the air,
- the police might be listening too,so planning a bank job over the air is pretty moronic,
- Other than that everyone has lots of fun and you even get to choose nicknames ("handles")

Re: Twitter
You'll be happy to know that you can read my Twitter updates without logging in and with both cookies and JavaScript off. Heck, I just tried it in Lynx. There is also the lightweight interface (same non-requirements).Geirr wrote:Most of those services compromise peoples' privacy and anonymity to some degree or another.
You can also follow the Atom or RSS feeds. Once again, with neither logins nor cookies and JavaScript.
(I plan to post quick, frequent status updates on Twitter. Big updates will go here, too. Very big ones to the front-page news as well.)

If not, you can just cancel the upload and request it again to get a new username/password.AmvOer wrote:zi wonder if the password and user will still work?
