Katsucon 15 AMV Contest Deadline December 31st!

Yeah I was there. The Saturday showing was in the main events, but it was really early and I was nestled in my comfy bed, so I only saw it in that smaller room Friday night. Though at this hotel, the main events itself is a bit smaller than I'm used to for Katsu even. Going to have to make sure we're in line plenty of time before the showing just to be on the safe side.

Actually, the person that I was staying with had some early morning event he wanted to go to also, so I went in early as well and caught the early morning showing. I gotta tell ya, playing it in the main events hall that early in the morning was a bad idea - the audience was obviously very tired, and while the previous night every AMV had been applauded, there was no such activity in the main events hall that morning. Though my AMV started out with a rather loud note, so it at least woke people up.

Yeah, I'd heard that it was a bit subdued in general. Even though it's the same place, Katsu's a different con, so here's to a different experience !!

I just hope Haruhi gets a good response. It would be nice to win one at a convention I'm attending (just found out AICon 2009 - at University of Tasmania - voted "Go Ask Haruhi" as Best Drama ), but there's so much quality stuff out there. I'm anxious for the screening...

Jeez, this is the THIRD time my video has to go up against Nic Neidenbach's "Baccano Swing!" -- first at Otakon, next at AWA Pro, and now here at Katsu. I know I entered "I Am Fullmetal" in almost every contest under the sun back in 2005-2006, but I'm sure I didn't enter that video in as many contests as Nic has with "Baccano Swing!" (or even "Code Monkey" for that matter)...

But hey, I'm in

And for those of you going to Katsu, I'll be doing some early morning Dragon Ball Z stuff on Saturday in Live 1... Great Saiyaman saga from 5-8am, and then a showing of "Doomrider Project", the first 3 eps of DBZ Abridged, and several good DBZ AMVs from 8-9am. Come check it out.
