Hey fellow AMVers,
There's a new J-pop singer, Buranden, who is looking to partner up with an AMV creator for the A-kon 20 video contest. He's got some pretty cool stuff, being a fluent Japanese speaker and American. Check out his music here if you've got the chance:

His CD is coming out later this month and you get some free stuff and some exclusive rights to use his music if you do end up submitting something. Details are under his blog on his MySpace. I 'm a big fan of his music, but don't really have the time to make a vid myself.
Thanks,

I'm curious how he would go about distributing the rights to possible contenders. As its not as simple as him saying "Here you can use my song". Regardless not my type of music but somebody might be interested regardless.

Also acceptance of such an agreement sets dangerous precedent as it implies one would need to enter in to such an agreement in the future to make an AMV.

I don't think it's a big deal or anything. It even says on his blog after he mentions the "exclusive rights," he says, "(meaning that you get a copy of the song to use at your will before the physical copies of the CDs come out)."
Truth be told, I think he's just trying to get his music out there. He doesn't look too famous or anything yet.
Here's the part I like: "Even if you don't have a chance to participate in this contest, feel free to use the music for an AMV at any time in the future."
I think we should hear that from more artists.
