Convention video submission script? (Yes, I read the guide)

I even tried importing the footage into adobe premiere to see what it would look like, and the black borders show up there too. Strange...

There's probably an explanation for that too: Premiere Pro tends to interpret everything that's 720x480 as standard NTSC (0.9) PAR unless you tell it not to. So if you right-click on the clip in the Library, select "Interpret Footage...", and force it to be Square Pixels (1.0), it should look right.

Alright that makes sense. I checked under the file information in Vdub and it definitely says its 720x480. WMP fullscreen still shows the black borders though. Don't have media player classic.
So assuming if my filters are the problem, then do you know if the video would show at the correct resolution during the convention or would the same thing happen?

Do you have a widescreen monitor? If so, then it should. If not, then I don't know.

In that case, the video should show correctly at the convention. Any Natural coordinator who's run a convention contest before should know how to deal with MPEG-2s.
