Submission Deadline is only a week away - May 3.
The Submission Form for each video you plan to enter needs to be filled out by May 3. This is the cut off date so we know just how many videos to expect for the contests.
However, we are extending the entry time for getting us your video until May 10. That means you have an extra week to actually upload or snail mail your video to us.

Given everyone's reactions to the idea of awarding $ prizes, I've spoken to the Staff and we are abandoning that idea! Prizes will still be Free Swag, Trophies and Gift Certificates, perhaps something else as well. I really appreciate everyone's reaction so please re-consider remaining/entering in the contest. This is why I relay announcements to the community, to get these kind of feedback.
If you have any other ideas for prizes, besides trophies and certificates, please share them with us! We can certainly use the input.

Also, for those who are interested: The presentation format for this year's events will be different than before. So get those videos in, you've still got time.
A-KON 20 is here folks. Two decades of the longest running anime convention in N. America and we’re back to do it again .... A-KON 2009 Video Events .... now open for submissions!
We’re still using the old homepage, until the new layout is complete, but everything is operational and we are ready for your video entries - all information is updated and correct and the FTP server is working.
Note: New Mailing Address if you are submitting your videos on DVD
Submission deadline: Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
Hosted events: Fans' Exhibition, Experts' Exhibition, Fanworks Exhibition, The "H" Exhibition
Categories: Action/Horror, Comedy/Fun, Drama/Romance
NEW Category: Multi-Editor Projects (M.E.P)
That’s right, we are now going to accept Multi-Editor Projects for the Fans/Experts Exhibitions.
1. One video entry per group/project, submission done by one individual in the group, such as the project coordinator. You’ll be able to enter the names of the other editors upon submission.
2. Try to limit the time for these videos to within the range of the recommended video length for each contest, we won’t disqualify you for going a couple minutes over.
In addition, we’re going to change the presentation format to try and keep things interesting, plus there might be a few other surprises. It is A-Kon’s 20th anniversary after all. I’ll try to address any questions anyone has for this year’s contests and keep you up-to-date as things progress.
