Re: Gundam 00
Ok,my thoughts on the final episode are that they managed to wrap it up nicely despite the latest episodes which were pretty mediocre.
We had:
Gundam movie in 2010 - it'll be kinda like Endless Waltz of Gundam Wing imo...

Re: Gundam 00
I'm sure most people seen the final ep by now so no need for spoiler tags.
I thought the final ep was pretty good. Loved the action scenes from start to finish. I'm glad 00 Raiser wasn't invincible and holy crap... Reborns Gundam is loaded with everything, from mega particle cannons to fangs. The biggest highlight for me was Exia vs O Gundam. I never expected Exia to come back. In fact, this is the first Gundam series I've seen where the characters had to downgrade their mechs for the final battle. For a sec there, I thought Lyle was gonna die cuz screen faded white. It's nice to see a long epilogue. Kati and Patrick marriage was so fanservice. It looks like Allelujah and Marie are completely out of Celestial Being and living out their own lives. Marina leading Azadistarn again or whatever that country is called. I think she's better off working at daycare center instead. And why the heck are those kids still there? I wonder who are those innovator look alike people were scattered in a few epilogue scenes. All the good stuff aside, there were some things that irked me. First off is the insert songs. During the Exia vs O Gundam battle, they played the awful Marina song in the background which almost killed the final battle for me. I think it would've been better if it was instrumental. Then the Unlimited Sky insert, gosh I absolutely hate that song to death. 2nd is the Andrei's ending. I personally wished he died for being such a moron but seems like he's redeemed himself a little bit. 3rd is Graham's 1 sec appearance without any dialogs. I've expected him to show up somewhere in the final battle but guess not. Even so in his last appearance, he doesn't say a single word. I mean.. WTH!!?
Overall, Gundam 00 has been one hell of a ride. I think it's my 2nd fav Gundam series led by Gundam X and followed by Zeta Gundam. This is definitely on my DVD buy list. It's great to see there no recap ep in the 2nd season and very little stock footage used unlike... yes I'm staring at you, SEED Destiny. I do have a few major complaints on both seasons. In Season 1, I thought the pacing very slow on the first half of the series and then the story began to move at a breakneck pace when the Thrones showed up. In season 2, Mr. Bushido's existence is pointless. He doesn't do anything that moves the story or the characters. I was arguing with one of my friends about Bushido, he says without him, Setsuna's character wouldn't develop, however I think Setsuna's character was mostly impacted Lockon, Ali Al Saches, Saji and sometimes Marina. Graham would have been better off dead in season one if you ask me. And about Marina Ismail, she was useless 80% of the time. In the end, what's the whole point of her and the kids going to space? Other than that, there's also that movie to look forward to and looks like its gonna a sequel but nothing has been confirmed so far. Some people are speculating it's gonna be a 00 and Geass crossover because of Jupiter which I have no idea how that's gonna work.
Well anyways there's my 2 cents. I have no problem recommending this series to any Gundam/Mecha fans. It has its ups and down moments, but it's a series that's worth the watch.

Re: Gundam 00
It won't be a crossover. Remember in S1 when the professor who got killed by the Thrones said something about a project on Jupiter? Also that prologue to one of the episodes showing that the Haros were found on Jupiter? So all the technology came from there and that will have some impact.
Marie and Allelujah survived so the ending was for me.
Marina proved to be more useless than Relena Peacecraft but because of that I'm expecting her character to have a lot of significance in the upcoming movie.
Yes I also hated that children song playing during Exia vs 0 Gundam.
Now one question remains for me... who the FUCK were those ppl who covered their faces in that room in the recap episode from S1, the people who said they had a 'right to deny Celestial Being's existence', maybe they will return in the movie?

Re: Gundam 00
My complaints with the series:
A lot of useless characters (Marina Ismail,Bushido,Nena,Mei Ling and her brother,Saji's sister) - even Ali Al Saarchez didn't do anything great at the 2nd season
When arriving at a stalemate, there was a power-up or someone unknown coming to save the day - that happened a lot of times imo (Thrones,Trans-Am,Particles that let you hear everything and enable you to appear and disappear like you're a magician,Trans-Am Burst)
Lots of plot-holes - entering new characters and situations just to kill them later on when they seemed to not be of use, like:
1) Marina's role could be that of Lacus if properly used,
2) Ali Al Saarchez could be an arc-nemesis and lead the 2nd season but remained in the shadows
3) The whole Graham-Setsuna rivalry ended up ridiculously
On the other side,
Superb animation
Epic battles with great detail
Great OST
No recap episodes
breathtaking 1st season's 2nd half
great 2nd season's 1st half
My favorite Gundam series remains Gundam Seed but still 00 is definitely worth the watch and a must see for mecha fans...

Re: Gundam 00
00 was plot driven
Zeta was war/battle driven, but at the end of the day 3/4 of the show was about protecting ppl going to and from space back to earth which I found stupid even tho it was more realistic, plus Camille is the worst Gundam main, but overall solid show
SEED and SEED Destiny were character driven
In terms of enjoyment I put 00 and Seed the same, I have to rewatch Wing though since its been too long since I've seen it. But yeah season 2 of 00 had a lot of wasted opportunities, I think they were just generally going for fan appeal to get the ratings up which is why there was a big increase in animation and battling in S2.

Re: Gundam 00
Wow,there was no discussion in this topic since april 2009.Time surely passes quickly...
I'd assume someone would have written about the movie but it's natural that noone would comment on it.Unless he/she was watching a different movie from what I saw...
Anyway, that's my 2 pennies for the movie.
I had completely forgotten about the movie and found it 2 days ago by chance.
So,I sat there expecting to see what type of new enemy they would invent or if it would be like Endless Wlatz.
And what did we end up with?
The end.
This is pretty much the story. No character development, just recycled ideas about what is peace and that it is achieved through understanding.
Ok,I was a bit harsh.Truth be told,I really liked the first half of the story. It was quite a mystery when the aliens appeared and it felt a lot like scary movies.
Also it was good to see how each character has grown up.Yep,every one of them...
Add to it the superb animation, the - it can't be more badass and orgasmic - battles and the detailed graphics in everything.
Still, the second half was pure shit.Just battles vs. metal which can tranform into cruisers, gundams etc., needless killing of characters, shitty explanations concerning aliens and most notably, the end. This was awful beyond belief.
ps: When did Feldt start having feelings for Setsuna?
ps 2: Setsuna finally got laid with Marina. He seemed to be 25 (with a great metallic tan XD XD XD) and she was 90.Way to go man!
ps 3: Tieria is undead.Better thank orgies with Veda for that...
