Re: Full Metal Alchemist
Are you talking about a fansub of the new series? The legal stream comes out tomorrow. At 12:00 ESTguy07 wrote:I watched that ... why?

I totally agree with Ishbalan on all counts.
This series deserved more justice.

Re: Full Metal Alchemist
Oh, and in case it hasn't already been mentioned: The original way they revealed his automail stomped the bloody, lumpy shit out of this new episode. They barely made anything of it - like it was old news or something, and the Ice-alchemist's reaction to it was damn-weak compared to the Priest's in "To challenge the sun".
Failure.

Maybe they didn't want fans to think, "Oh no, it's deja vu, I've seen this already with the first series." I won't pass judgment on it until I watch it tomorrow. It's only had one episode, maybe they'll put it in the story later.

Re: Full Metal Alchemist
Methinks people should stop comparing this shit to the original broadcast of the series. It's essentially the same as all the people who bitched about the anime not being the same as the manga in the beginning. And yet now they go ahead and make a version more faithful to the manga there are still people that bitch about THAT not being close enough to the anime adaption.
Stop watching just to compare. If you seriously can't see anything redeemable about the new broadcast, and love the previous anime adaption you can always go back to watching that. They are not the same show, there's no point in saying one isn't as good as the other based on how they decide to handle the events.
tl;dr don't watch to hate.

I do not watch to hate, though there was nothing redeeming about that. It was a total failure.
Was there anything about an "Ice Alchemist" in the first manga? Not that I remember. (Or: did anything in that episode match up to anything in the manga?)
So your argument is invalid.

Yes. Emphasis on "IN THE MANGA". This isn't the manga, it's an adaption of that. The producers still have some leeway for original content, otherwise we'd be seeing nothing new.76 wrote:Was there anything about an "Ice Alchemist" in the first manga? Not that I remember. I'm telling you that it's rather pointless to be watching a show merely for the purposes of pointing out how badly said show fails. I was always under the impression that anime was a hobby, and people would watch it to enjoy. I'm not saying you can't say anything bad about it but if you honestly believe, and I quote "there was nothing redeeming about that" then why bother watching it? Unless of course you're simply watching to see if anything changes within the next few episodes. It was, after all just the first episode. And from what I can recall, plenty of great series have started off with a strange/bad initial episode.76 wrote:So your argument is invalid.
Once again I'd say to just watch the show for what it is. You're certainly not going to enjoy it if you continue to compare every aspect of it to the manga/anime because it won't be the same. It's a new show, expect some changes.

Re: Full Metal Alchemist
The first series was accurate to the manga, for the first 20 episodes, with this series , Instead if having 20 OF THE EXACT SAME EPISODES. is having one or two ANIME ONLY EPISODES to quickly bring it up to speed. It's not suppose to be the same.76 wrote:I do not watch to hate, though there was nothing redeeming about that. It was a total failure.

What part of that DON'T. YOU. GET?
In fact I think we've been over this several times, and you always conveniently ignore that part of the post. Which means either you're not reading at all, or you're just Bawwing for the sake of it.

Re: Full Metal Alchemist
Anime exclusive episodes bring a sort of new flavour into the show, a nice change in pace, a kick start for a new show, etc. Most of us know what happens and it'd be boring if it started the exact same as the original.Vivaldi wrote:The first series was accurate to the manga, for the first 20 episodes, with this series , Instead if having 20 OF THE EXACT SAME EPISODES. is having one or two ANIME ONLY EPISODES to quickly bring it up to speed.
