Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Are you stupid? He can use whatever anime he wants, as long as the editing is different than most others set to that anime.

Even though I didn't like it due to the editing, I still think it actually had potential. I'm a sucker for Dbz (despite how much it's been used) and I'm a BIG sucker for Questions! and if edited just right, it could be a pretty good match. I'd say try not to use the same common editing style. You don't need to use fades and flash every time, there are other ways to transition your scenes. Like I said, its got potential, it's just the damn editing I don't like.

Good luck on your next vid.

lol, Well anyways, Ive had my fun.
20+ posts for a appr "bad" amv.
I would appreciate that no one comments this post anymore.
So this annoucement can die and the drama to end :o

I guess people dont like to listen.

I only respond negatively to people I personally hate, you dont fall into that category. You fall into the category of people that just didnt like my amv. :amv:
Vivaldi wrote:Honestly I don't see what all the hate's about, the effects were rough and the text was out of place, sure. But the editing was fairly solid (especially in the last part) and I wouldn't have noticed a problem with the quality had someone not mentioned it.

And while I couldn't discern too much of a plot, you'd have to be a grade A idiot to think this was random, either that or you didn't bother watching it.
Finally someone with a brain. Thanks for explaining this to these Grade A idiots.
TwilightChrono wrote:It was okay. This is actually the first semi-decent DBZ amv I've seen in a while.

This entire thread for example, is why I haven't made a DBZ amv myself :awesome:

Some of the text looked out of place at certain scenes, and I had to pause to read some of the text (but I didn't until my second play through)

Keep at it, dude/dudette
Prodigi was too stupid to pause the video on the (second play) instead he paused it on the (first play). Then he has the nerve to [bitch] at me about it lol. You shouldn't be afraid of making a dbz amv. Dont listen to the Org Elitists that tell you not to edit with dbz. If Org Elitists dont like it , they can go screw themselves.
commozee05 wrote:Elcalavero, since this thread is spiralling out of control with hate for Goku and co.
I guess theres a moral to this story.

DONT USE DBZ!!!!

There are a few exceptions, of course.
1. If you are sure that your video will be one of the greatest, most original DBZ vids made.
2. If you have no interest in being taken seriously as an editor (unless you acheive the above).
3. If you don't mind the pain and mental depression that follow the release.

Its up to you my friend. Do you want to stay with the DBZ maniacs, or come over to the DARK SIDE!!!
I fall into the 2 and 3 category. I have already joined the dark side. You should look at my 2 previous amvs.

No he is not stupid, he is giving me suggestions. Something that I find helpful.

Probably the most helpful out of the many posts. As I mentioned earlier(somewhere in this post), that this was a old project that I decided to finish. I have a different editing style now where I dont use many fades/ or flashes. My next vid will all be done in AE, so I doubt you will see any fades in my next project. Much respect ^^

SideNote:
Also I think there is streaming now for this amv. So if you dont want to download but want to watch it,
Streaming video is available. The reason I THINK theres streaming, is because sometimes it shows the
preview above local and sometimes it doesnt. It shows absolutely nothing. Im not sure if its a
bug of this new feature or my Firefox is messing up. Im pretty sure its not my firefox ;p

You know what the problem with everyone focusing on 'meh DBZ' is? It hides the fact that even if he used a different source the video would still suck warm jizz through a short straw.

There was absolutely zero attempt at a story, instead we just get random shots of various fights mixed with shots of someone who's either dying or is trying really hard to work out a crap when they're constipated (I couldn't tell, the expression on his face could have been either. Considering he was in bed I'm hoping it's the dying thing. I'd hate to think the anime focuses on characters who actively try to shit in bed). Don't tell me to read the description to get the story, if I couldn't get the story just by watching the video then you fail as an editor. People aren't expected to go read a plot summery to get the story after a DBZ episode, why should be expected to read one to get the story of your video? Next time try something different, try actually including a fucking plot in your video.

The effects were pointless, trite, boring, and worst of all annoying as fuck. None of them looked like something that would take more than 60 seconds to duplicate. The text was out of place and distracting, especially since anyone who has the bad taste to actually like this video is probably illiterate and wouldn't be able to understand the text no matter how long you left it up.

So all told, ignore the people who hate this video because it's DBZ. There are so many other, better, reasons to hate it.

QUALITY AMV

Aside from the out of place text looking 500,000x better than your "remastered" DVD footage, the editing is terrible. I'll come back later when I think of more constructive things to beat you over the head with.
