Let me state that I'm guilty of using the "long fade" too. But for this video, it works. The pacing is great and the "atmosphere" and "mood" were well set. The inserts of Basara and Minmei singing in the screens in some of the scenes (2:14, 3:56, etc.) and the bit at 2:25 during the Fire Bomber concert were a great tying in of the various series. Having seen most of the franchise (I've watched SDF Macross as Robotech (first run) and as itself, and everything else then on, except that I've only seen bits of M7 and the first episode of Frontier), it really kicked in the nostalgia factor. This video didn't feel 7 and a half minutes long to me because of it.

This is the ultimate Macross AMV (until the next series in the same timeline pops up) and it distills the central themes of all the Macross shows: music and love can motivate, inspire, and provide strength to people. (It's not all about cool transforming mecha and battle scenes, however much I like them.)

I guess I should get around to watching M7 and Frontier now.

And I almost wish there was some Macross II in there... :P
Having trouble playing back videos? I recommend: Image

Thank you very much Willen, much appreciated. Almost wish there was some Macross II? i thought to myself briefly about putting it in there, like a small scene. But, overall, Macross II isn't cannon and it sucks, so nope :P

It's cause it's only actually 3 minutes. He coded it to skip time. Making it seem like it's an 8 minute file, but it's only 3. Plus, he stole your wallet while you were watching.

Also, KING PWOLF.

You give a guy a crown, and it just goes straight to his head.

Now that makes sense

It's good to se someone focusing on the editing and scenes instead of just sp.effects in every frame and making good vids at the same time. Gives me a little courage to realese my own AMV (my old ones su** dont bother with them  )

Do you feel the pressure from the crown? You do know it mens your next one must be better then the last  ? lol
