For some reason i REALLY like the animation in this series, particularly the shading. It makes it look like everything was colored from a sketchbook. The series seems ok so far but nothing amazing. The artwork in the game was amazing too. I'm definitely keepin up with it.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

The sklecthbook style was carried over from the game. It makes it feel that much closer to the original game, Of course I'm a fan of the game so I'm happy about this.

Cute girls with gewehr and tank, uguuuuuuu~

I'm really liking this show, looks like it could become really really epic. Some would make accusations of moe on the battlefield, but whatever. I LOVE the character designs.

mmmmm I usually play the game before watching the show. I actually have the game since it came with a limited edition artbook I wanted but no PS3 yet =P Would watching the anime take away from the game?

I chose the PS3 (despite not being a fan of Sony) just to buy this game ... and don't have any regret.

This anime is a really good surprise to me. They manage to provide a good realization and respect each character personnality so far.
Seiyuu casting is quite awesome (same than the game): I recognize voice used for Major Kusanagi as Varrot, Alicia's, and Isara & Welkin sounds somehow familiar too. If they keep following the game, voice actor for Maximilian will be same as Lelouch's.

Epic is the word that defines the best any scene of the game with a Valkyria involved.
Adapting it in anime format will be quite a challenge ...

So far the anime follows the game scenario with only few differences here and there.
That said, the battle system is what is really enjoyable in the game. So if you don't mind the spoiler I think you'll still enjoy the game thoroughly.

I was so psyched when this finally came out. The game was a masterpiece in artwork, plot & mechanics. The anime follows the story pretty well. The characters have more facial expressions, especially Welkin. I'm hoping they take elements from the notebook part of the game and develop the backstories.

Just a note about the game: 3 add-ons are now avalaible, since 16th April in Europe (and probably before in U.S.)

These additive contents are:
- A new battle mode call EX-hard, where Eldelweiss is not available and enemy position and forces completely differs.
- A small story where Edy (a secondary character, not yet seen in the anime except in OP and ED) acts as the commander.
- The conquest of Gharlandho fort by the empire ... where you play as Imperial soldier, and eventually with Selvaria!
