Front Mission 5 No Audio After Muxing
Hi everyone.
I'm one of the team members of the game called Front Mission 5, and I have problem with implanted movie back into the game. It shows the movie but there is no audio. Please maybe here someone will know how to help me it seems that this is the last forum where I can get any help...
There is at the beginning of the game an opening movie - FMV. I manage to translate it delete the Japanese text and place the English. I been manage to place the movie into the game and it works BUT with one problem - there is no sound. I used the PSS Plex to demultiplex the file in to m2v and wav. The problem is that insetad the wmv i get file with without the extension so it looks like this: stream_1685566_0-Alt0 and when I used the PSS Demux I get m2v and file with .dat extension. Well I'm sure that this is an audio because I used the program called MFAudio to hear the sound. When I checked the audio file I found out that there is no header in it, so I decided to add standard wmv header to the file and it worked I was able to multiplex the files back (before that I was unable to do It since the PSS Plex asked for wmv). I edited the file using TMPGEnc then I putted it back to the game. Even when I open the movie in VirtualDub there is picture but no sound...The translation and the movie looks great but there is no audio. Does nay one know something about editing PSS files ?? I found this site peoples seem to have similar problems:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 44&t=80680
Here is the file:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A5UT7SXQ
This is the very last thing that requires the translation. So if any one knows how to edit this support me with information please.
Here is the first 25 MB of the movie if you don't want to download whole 200MB:

And here is the audio itself after demuxing:

Re: Front Mission 5 No Audio After Muxing
the codec page is 404 .. doesn't sound like its muxxed, sounds like its been "midi'd"
. Older gamers use to have fun putting "wav" files into "midi" encoders; if the audio
board did not have its own Codec Chip, then it would not Encode correctly. ( Yamaha )
If the encoded audio were then played through a non-codec'd board, it would sound
like your PCMwav48k16bit 1.sub file.
. without that Codec, software or hardware type, we can proceed no further.

You see I don't want to change the audio, I just want to mux the same audio back into m2v.Pete081085 wrote:Yes, but how come the PSS Plex demultiplex the file and that I can hear the sound in MF Audio ?? IS there a possibility to at leas mux the file back ??

Re: Front Mission 5 No Audio After Muxing
there are quite a few ways you can go about this without having the Audio Codec:
I use a Direct-to-MP4 encoder off of the Video & Audio out ports using a little device
that Pinnacle made last year .. http://pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Pr ... corder.htm
its quite simple to use and doesn't care if the audio is stereo or AC_9 surround sound.
There are other ways of doing it but; this looks like the fastest way to do it and it
requires "no codec hunting" nor will it produce any "distortion" like computer-2-computer
linking will cause. If you have an old 1983 Beta-HiFi recorder, it will do the same thing.
Don't be afraid of using things that can help you; be very afraid of "not knowing what's out there!"
