An entry that wins Best of Show cannot win the category it was entered in. This is of course why we announced it last during the awards.

I so glad to have taken a part in it, and congratulations to the winners!

True, this is why I'm really considering not releasing this video at all, but just trying to approach cons in the hope they will play this video when the audience is waiting for results or whatever.

As for now, the AMV is still in ongoing process leading to the "final" version. There are actually two other sections I already made (but no voices for them yet) and I really need to get the timing, pacing and build-up right (and getting the Totoro DVD as well ;)), but I can only do that when receiving comments and "experience-reports" from people who were there at the con while the video was being played. It was really hard to beta this AMV, because the reaction you get from one person behind the monitor is really different (and most people who beta'd it for me weren't really participating at all which made me think it would be a huge failure at cons).

I might do a "ninja upload" in two months or so...

I would be disappointed if this wasn't made available. I will admit that this isn't exactly the best AMV to watch alone, but you ignore the fact that many people can (and do) watching animes and AMVs together in groups. This is a great AMV to be open for people, because then people who run anime clubs and gatherings can get their hands on it, and get people excited in the club. It's good for the large get-together of friends who are marathoning BLEACH and want something to distract them after the 10th filler episode before jumping back in. Although some of the language is coarse (ze sexy babes), I could see this being used for children. It'll grab their attention and get them active.

I do look forward to any future works you do, but I am presently looking forward to seeing this video again, and [if possible] showing it to my friends who couldn't come with me the convention.

Well I can tell you that my sister and I loved it. What was funny was that I knew that you were going to mix up the colors the way you did, but you still managed to get us to mess up on that XD. I defiantly think that it's something that the Cons should play to get the crowd pumped for AMV contests and showings. Seeing it at Acen, I really dont have any feedback to give except that it was awesome and the people in the crowd loved it, even the 'O' and 'X' for right and wrong answers.

Well, if you PM me about it I'll play it at Anime Evolution's AMV Room in June during one of the very popular blocks (like comedy when the place is packed - 640 seats) if you like... I do run 3 AMV rooms and do AMV blocks at several cons as well so if it's as good as eveyone is saying, I would most certianly play it at alot of cons

You'll probably have put a version out by then, but dokool and I have Main Stage (~800 person room) for Extreme Iron Editor at AAC in November and I'd love to stick it in the mix. The whole con is going to be centered around lots of participatory activities, so this really fits in.

Grats to all the winners. And thanks to everyone who submitted and used the FTP system and such. There were a few hicups but for the most part it all went smoothly. I got some wonderful feedback on the database system and will be working on fixing it up over the year in hopes of having a much easier to use and operate system before next year!

I'm still open to feedback and suggestions of course. I want to shape the system in a way that you all can easily access and use it. It will be hard to do without feedback from those of you who actually use it!

I FINALLY WON A PRIZE DURING IRON EDITOR! IT IS SO AWESOMECORE!!!!!!!!!!

And for those of you who care. Sailor Death ripped the AMV Wars Hentai Championship out of my cold dead hands Friday night during the event. Our theme wound up being, "What Would Jesus Do?" Congratulations to you dude, but I still say I was robbed!

Thanks for the comments people, it's good to hear that people want to play it on cons, because that was eventually the goal of the AMV. I'll be PM-ing people about that!

One thing I kept forgetting (as you might have noticed) is the FTP-request, which was annoying because - even though it's also my fault for not reading carefully - I wasn't expecting it to work like that. I know it's something that can be done automatically (A-Kon has it I think), but can't you guys do it because of technicalities or are there specific reasons you guys have chosen not to?

I've been working on automating the FTP functions. One of the draw backs is that I cannot use the local FTP server on the database's web server, because it will not allow a script to create accounts and the number of accounts is extremely limited. I have been working on integrating it with my FTP server, however the connection seems to get lost in transit over the web.

I hope to have the system automated by next year. One thing that may fix these problems will be when I move the database off of my web server and onto my personal FTP server box. I'm still in the testing phase with the database running on that server, but once it passes I'll begin work on integrating and automating the FTP system.
