The Dub Track English Dubs, not Inferior

Anime is a very corny form of entertainment at large. When you're watching it in Japanese, reading these corny lines, it's a lot less corny than when you hear them in English because you're familiar with what something should and shouldn't sound like, and it's a hell of a lot easier to pick out something as being corny when it's in a language you understand.

I am also tired of hearing anime-related conversations that are all about how dubs are the worst thing on the face of the planet. Like, seriously: Just because you've watched a subbed version of the anime (and have certainly grown accustomed to the japanese seiyuus) absolutely does not give you the right the flame the dub of said anime.

Dubs are meant to expand the knowledge of anime across the globe, and there are plenty of dubs that I'm thankful for just because they've introduced a show I probably wouldn't have heard of before/in a long time, let alone watch.
Now, I don't truly have a preference in watching dubbed or subbed anime: If I watch the anime subbed the first time, its good. If I watched it dubbed the first time, its good. I just usually come across a lot of subbed episodes when I'm watching them online.

The only downside to dubs is the reason why its gotten such a loathing from people: the fact that its a dub-over. I can't completely say that I love dubs of animes I've seen subbed already, and I'm sure a lot of people would say the same. Some dubs sound immensely similiar to the original (eg. Wolf's Rain, in my opinion), while others... not so much (eg. Busou Renkin.)
Honestly, I'm really happy when I see an anime dubbed: that means that a) More people will probably see it, and b) I can buy it on DVD if I like it a lot. =D

All the more reason why the English dub kicks the original's mother-loving ass.
Same situation with Hellsing and Baccano! Some anime were just meant to be done in English.

I whole-heartedly agree with all of this.

I watch 2 to 3 episodes in both languages and go from there.

The newer it is, the better chance I will like the English dub.

Like, Eva hurts my ears to watch it in English. The dub for is terrible. I also don't like the Revolutionary Girl Utena dub although I've seen it all the way through twice (in both languages actually). Naruto in English is rough too.

The Flip side is I *love* the English dub of Full Metal Alchemist (I Al) and findit hard to watch in Japanese only because I think Ed and Al in English just SOUND better. Cowboy Bebop is better in English. RahXephon is better in English.

Then there are shows like Outlaw Star (Jap) and Getbackers (Eng) that both have their pluses and minuses.

Just don't get wrapped into picking one and internet defending it.
