Re: AMV Salad 3: ...less than ONE week to post-production!
Argh! I have two more entries but I just moved and don't have internet set up at home yet! I'm only able to post this cuz I found a wi-fi hotspot to post this from my I Pod. Deuce, any chance I would be able to submit mine late?

Argh! Looks like I'm not going to get to submit for this one I've only just gotten done with college for the summer... wouldn't be able to get a clip in unless it was by the end of this week. If you could wait and see what I come up with in the span of a week, I'll send in what I make. If not, well I'll make the clips and hold onto them until AMV Salad 4.
I'm so sorry I didn't get around to doing stuff sooner, college has been a real priority. But now that I'm out for the summer, I can work on whatever I want!

Re: AMV Salad 3: ...less than ONE week to post-production!
You should go for it, I have several clips complete I need to re-render after he critiques them and apparently deuce is having Hard drive issues that will probably delay the cutoff date at least a little considering he hasn't been getting back to me very quickly. According to the first post he has until early June, so for now, I would go forward since this thing needs more rather than less clips. I could be wrong, but worse comes to worse you stash whatever you make until next year. I've been trying to get ahold of him for a while and his HD issues seem to restrict his communications as well for now.

Re: AMV Salad 3: CLOSED for post-production (read for details)
I have set a slight deadline extension for late submissions. This is it, kids. After 12:01am this Saturday morning, no more submissions will be accepted for AMVS3. If you want me to save something for AMVS4 (theme TBA), I'll take it.
Please look to the top of page 1 for further details.
Now the work begins...

As for the rest of y'all, I'm gonna go through my files this weekend to see who I have production tags from. Also I'm installing the new hard drive by tomorrow so I'm gonna fire up Vegas and see how the clips I have look together.
This is what post-production is all about, kids. If I encounter any trouble after attempting to resolve it on this end, you'll hear from me by probably Tuesday. Visually, it's difficult to hold a group of people to the same standard since everyone tends to use a different variety of codecs, programs, etc. I'm mainly concerned about sound quality, especially keeping volume levels consistent all the way through.
Anyway, I'm gonna blitz my way through the rough construction and fine-tune it all as I run into what needs it. You'll have a beta sent through email by June 1 so I have a few days to make any changes you may require. It's gonna go by fast so be ready...

STATUS REPORT
The video will probably be a few days late getting to you all. Here's why.
I replaced the hard drive a few days ago and thought I had fixed the problem. I have almost 200 GB storage now. The thing is it's running in a case that's 5 1/2 years old. I haven't had to replace any parts until now.
Yes, I have an ancient system in computer terms. I have 512mb RAM available and I'm being told this may also be why I'm still encountering freezes (though only when I try to edit). I also hear it may be a power issue. Unplugging the disc drive and the never functional floppy drive helped ease whatever burden I was placing on my system. Anyway, the theory is the devices may finally be giving out due to stress over time.
Fear not, though. There is an abundance of computer parts and cases enough lying around that one guy who lives here can put something together for me to put my hard drive in, and possibly over the weekend. One way or the other, this video will be completed even if I have to work through without sleep.
The plan goes something like this. I'll send the beta to you all when it's done (June 7 at the latest, which is a HARD-SET deadline). I'll submit what I have to Otakon so they'll have something. I'll take whatever suggestions you all may have and tweak the video accordingly until Anime Mid Atlantic the weekend of June 19, where this will be beta-tested on a small-ish audience. I will also make a "humble but urgent request" to Otakon to replace the video I sent them before with the cleaned-up and tightened version. Since this will be shown with the nightly parodies, not to mention this series being established at this convention, there ought not be a problem (I had to do this last year as well ).
So there it is. It's gonna be a clusterfuck, but a completed and submitted clusterfuck nonetheless. And thanks to everyone for flooding my inbox with last-minute entries. We'll get 15 minutes easy, most likely around 18 after opening sequence and closing credits. The Salad shall prevail..!
