Please, please, do not include any credits. This includes the title of your AMV. I am not sure why people don't realize that the title of your AMV is as much crediting your AMV as crediting the title of the song. I have disqualified 10 AMVs now because of credits, 5 AMVs due to subtitles/watermarks/logos, and 2 AMVs from 1 editor, who is the only one to submit anything too violent (AMV 1) or too sexually suggestive (AMV 2) which is greatly amusing to me. Most editors have successfully made changes and re-submitted their AMVs on time.

Yea, that's the reason for the re-encode, the vid ended with the title. So I had to edit it out.

I work 9 hours today. I work 7 hours tomorrow. All very early morning. I got 20+ e-mails yesterday, and I responded to every one of them. I checked this morning, and I have another 10+ e-mails. I can't even imagine what I am going to get tonight. I doubled my FTP login capability last night. I anticipate sitting in front of my computer until 10:30 - 11:00 PM answering questions (I got to sleep at 9:00 PM normally).

I don't know that I'll have enough FTP logins to handle the massive amount of AMVs coming in. I'd recommend anticipating uploading to other sources to submit AMVs to me at this point other than requesting FTP logins. If you request and FTP login by the time I go to sleep, and I send you an FTP login before the deadline, you are safe. If I run out of FTP logins, I'll let everyone know that they have to use a different method to submit.

You are welcome to submit your AMV after the deadline. If it is received after the deadline, it will be disqualified from the AMV contest. As long as it has no other technical disqualifications, I can show it during the General Screening. Everyone wins.

You most certainly can. If the resolution is high (1280x720), I am telling you up front that there will most likely be dozens of frames lost during playback, and potential audio de-synchronization. If it's a low resolution (720x480), high frame rate video, you most likely be okay. I will watch all of the AMVs and inform all editors whether or not their videos will play back properly. If there is sufficient time before the deadline, you may re-submit a corrected video.
Do you think 960x540 will have any issues? it's a bit large, but 720x480 might be a little too small in my opinion.

Send it away. It should be fine. If there are any issues, I will let you know.

I tore through all of the e-mails and submissions in a short 4.5 hours after I got home from work. I was expecting to be flooded. Buckets and buckets of AMVs. Is that all you folks have? I am waiting on 6 FTP AMVs, but there are currently logins available if anyone needs one.

The deadline is past. If you submit your AMV now, before May 24th 11:59 PM EST, I am accepting additional AMV submissions for the General Screening only. Your AMV will not be rated, but it will be checked for disqualifying properties. As long as there is nothing to disqualify your AMV, your AMV will be shown during the General Screening.

Also, due to unforeseen circumstances (an eye injury) one of the pre-screen judges was not able to attend the pre-screening that took place this evening to rate the AMVs. I will be sending her all of the AMVs to watch from her computer. I expect I should have the results by Monday night, and I will be able to post results on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Have a good weekend, and good luck!

All of the videos have been rated. Due to the skew of certain genre submissions, the AMVs were split into 6 genres. AMVs were assigned an appropriate genre with other AMVs containing similar qualities. We ended up with:
Action, Comedy, Drama, Romance, Sentimental, and Upbeat

The lineup of AMVs played in each genre of the AMV Contest will be determined by a random number generator. The line up of AMVs played in the general screening will be determined by a number random generator.

I will be sending out individual e-mails on Thursday. I will inform editors which AMVs are being shown at which screening, and which Genre the AMV has been assigned. If you have questions as to your AMV rating, please wait until you have received an e-mail from me on Thursday.

The following editors will have 1 AMV shown during the AMV Contest based on the higher rating of 2 videos submitted, if applicable:
