Seriously? I thought I saw snippets of the original Kanon in your vid. Then again, I've only seen just a couple of episodes of it, and have yet to see any of new Kanon... ...which I think now is probably a good time to rectify. Re: TheAX AMV Contest 2009 Finalists are...
Drama is generally the toughest to get into mostly due to the number of competitors in the field since it is the largest catagory (and still the most broad IMO, one of my videos I really had no idea where to put it).
This is the third year I didn't make it into the finalists at AX, which is funny, because I think I'm now on a cycle system with AX, my first three years entering no videos made it in, the next three I made it in and the most recent three I did not.
Freaking bizzare.
Oh and is there any word on the AMV gathering yet?

And who knows, if there seems to be AMV related stuff like a gathering going on I might even entertain flying down for the contest and gathers, etcThe Wired Knight wrote: Oh and is there any word on the AMV gathering yet?

If your talking about the AMV gathering and you mean by the Day 0 Dinner Meet then check here:

It was quiet amazing last year so I'm expecting this year to be a lot funner.

Man, I haven't been on here in ages. Yeah, what Ryv said about the M&G. Guess we should put a thread up here for those who don't venture over to the AX forums.

Wow, I think it's 3 years since we've both been in the AX contest. I think I'm 3/6 at AX with 2 wins. The Wired Knight wrote:Drama is generally the toughest to get into mostly due to the number of competitors in the field since it is the largest catagory (and still the most broad IMO, one of my videos I really had no idea where to put it).

Wasn't there an AX contest you won a prize at even though you didn't make the contest?

I vaguely remember that as well. Long Beach, wasn't it? Couldn't play his vid for either parody or pg13 reasons, but he still got an award and had it played at the awards ceremony, or something like that.

Yeah, that was Long Beach at AX 2007. For Katamari Cromartie

I won the AXAMTV award which is one they said they'd been wanting to establish for years but never were able to for legal reasons. I'm actually most proud of this award because it's one that "technically" doesn't even exist. That's also the only award I've actually one at AX. Despite not being in the finals the last two years I still have always had a video show at AX.
Though I doubt that will happen this year, hell I doubt anybody else even knew of the Command and Conquer remix I used for one of my videos.

You know what, you just made me feel confident about my drama entry this year. I gotta stop looking at things from other perspectives. <_<xstylus wrote:The vids are in no particular order. Give yourself a little credit, eh? Traditionally, drama is by far the fiercest category to compete in. If you got in, you absolutely deserved to get in, believe me. Your video has to be firing on all cylinders to make it to the finals in that category.Ryvannis wrote: I'm surprised though, my 5cm AMV got in (Monsoon), I never really expected it to get in due the stereotype that people have on the anime with AMVs and the fact that it's in the Drama category gave me more doubts. Was it the last one one tallied out seeing how its the last one on the list? Or did it get in by the stroke of luck? I saw a few others that were entered and never got in, and I thought those were way better; like Curtains Call for example.
Won't really expect to win with it though. Though I did get 2 AMVs in this year, and you know what that means. Unlimited bragging rights.
@Digital: Did you manage to work things out with what I recently PMed you about the other day?

I thoroughly enjoyed your vid in 07 (I got the Katamari snippets ) I'm surprised why it wasn't shown in the contest due to to it's maturity, but at least you got a non-existent award out of it.
