"Growl! That's Radishing": metal Ouran Host Club

Video: Growl! That's Radishing
Anime: Ouran High School Host Club
Song: "Turgid Apocalypse" by Mark Mothersbaugh

This is my first AMV. The song, "Turgid Apocalypse" is from The Sims 2. I could only describe it as metal satire, as it's difficult to take seriously anything sung in Simlish. The video is a montage of scenes from episodes 1-12 of Ouran Host Club that look a lot tougher when taken out of context.

Is the file size overly large for what it is? I wanted to err on the side of caution.

I am new at this, so I would appreciate some constructive criticism to help me improve. Any feedback is welcome.

That was really bizarre, and surprisingly good. The editing was good, sync was good.. I think this was a bit too long for what it was, but it was really original.. What part of the game is this from, is it one of the radio stations because I can't remember it? I also thought it was cute how you tried to lip sync the jibberish... Well done and a great first video.

Ouran means an instant get! :O

Edit: Interesting! :D Good sync but I thought it was a bit long :\ It would much more effective if it was shorter cause after a while,it kinda drags out.

This AMV is definitely NOT too long, its just the right length. This song is great, had my head bouncing the whole time, while I was laughing. The editing is amazing, lots of little things that stand out to me...like at 1:58 with the creepy looking thing laughing/growling, timed with the quick guitar riff...One mistake you made was not having any credits in the beginning or end of the video. Also, I noticed a few places that could have used at least a cross fade/dissolve effect...but thats just me, I'm cross fade addicted...so yeah, this is easily 5/5

Yes. this is very good. The well-synced military parts are the highlight, I'd say. I like how you've managed to do something that's genuinely good and yet not attract the regulars here enough. If anyone reading this has decided not to watch this because of the song/ earlier criticisms, just check it out anyway. It's got an effortless comedy to it, refreshing.

I'm thinking the same thing, why aren't people watching/commenting on this? Its very refreshing like you say.

Really your very first AMV? I am honestly impressed! :)

I enjoyed the originality to this and it's really a different and unexpected take to Ouran High School Host Club! As the others have said it is quite refreshing. The lipsync to the gibberish was good, timing was good, no scenes dragged on for too long... it's great! I giggled through the whole thing.

I don't mean for this to sound disheartening to any potential AMV makers that are lurking around the forums, but most first videos *usually* aren't really keepers. It usually takes time to teach yourself to edit to things like sync, concept and feel all in one video. But Ianiceboy, you nailed all of those your first time and I think this is a definite keeper.

You're off to a great start. :) Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the praise! I have renewed motivation to make a new AMV now! Also, I'm glad that this video has some originality; I was aiming for that, but I didn't know if I was headed down an overly-worn path.

Yes, it's from the "metal" station. If you're anything like me, you never listen to the metal station because some of the songs are hard on the ears after a few seconds.

Ah, credits, yes. I didn't even consider them. I will have to find some discreet way to slip them in there next time. I tried not to use any effects because I didn't want to bite off more than I could chew. I should try that in the future as well.

If only I had more military parts to draw from! Well, there are a couple more scenes that I could have used, but I wanted to limit myself to the first few episodes so as not to be at all spoilerous. (And I think I achieved that. Watching this video doesn't really tell you anything about the anime.)
