Re: Thoughts on this story?
This is what I got from the story.
If you buy large sums of manga, make sure you know what's in it FIRST.
If you buy manga, and some of it has sexual content that is deemed socially unacceptable, get ready to deal with it when people discover you possess it.
Remember, what WE think doesn't mean much to people outside of our hobby. So if YOU think a drawing of a dog screwing a child is 'nothing to be excited about', just keep in mind, your opinion might not mean much to the people that CAN ruin your life all the same.
I have lots of opinions on lots of issues. I have enough brains to realize my opinion might not mean squat to the people that have the power to ruin my life though.
Do you not realize, that a manga of a 21 year old female, drawn chibi style, performing some form of sex act that might get you in trouble, is just ill advised?
People outside of manga and anime, are not interested in hearing how a drawing in chibi style is not an accurate depiction of age.
Live your life in the real world, it's safer that way. Or takes your chances if you insist on declaring what you see are your rights.
Right now, that guy has been branded a sex offender, and I doubt anyone will ever even investigate how he got labeled that way.
And all because he was careless and thought nothing could ever go wrong.
I guess now he has a better understanding of his reality.
Be a proud lolicon if it floats your boat. Don't expect me to cry when you get slagged inaccurately and unfairly.
The rest of society doesn't give a damn about our protestations.

Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

In the future, people will hold up drawings of people and hold them hostage. Because, you know, ink has feelings too.

Re: Thoughts on this story?
Turns out Im going to be a lot more interested in this topic. My new English instructor asked the class if there were any controversial topics we were passionate about and wanted to talk about. When no one raised their hand, I thought, "Why the hell not?" and I started talking to the class about this. Now I have to write a persuasive essay on it.
I might quote some of you guys in my essay, just to let you know. :/

Let's not forget graphite.
And paint.
There is perfectly legal porn on the web of Pregnant women. It's sickening. But it's legal. So why should drawings of young girls be illegal? I just don't get it. It's not child porn, for all we know the drawings of girls who looks 25 might actually be 12. I've seen it... so yeah. And a drawing of a girl who is 12 might actually be in her 20s (this is more common). One of the more recent girls I've encountered like that was in Wanko to Kurasou, Nadeshiko is in her 20s but she looks like she is in middle school. It's simply illogical. There are far worse (legal) things on the internet than loli H. I mean seriously.
It makes at least a little bit of sense if they think it encourages the abuse of children. But the thing is, it doesn't encourage the abuse of children. It's like violent video games, it only affects a few people in that way. By that logic, all violent video games should be illegal, but they aren't. Studies on that are inconsistent and always turn out different results.
