Okies, I have a huge problem. 80% of my Anime, DVD rips, just deleted/converted themselves. I restarted my computer thinking since Vegas wasn't responding it would if I restarted it. When I rebooted my computer before it showed the "Windows XP" loading screen it showed me a blue screen and did this weird scan thingy. Well when the scan was completed it showed the usual "sign-in" screen. So I signed in. Then, I immediately went into my hard-drive. What I found was this ( http://s544.photobucket.com/albums/hh32 ... glitch.jpg ) All my files were originally folders and in the folders were .vob file format anime. Which, I am not sure if this is relevant or not, but Vegas started to refuse .vob file formats. The only things deleted/converted are some of the folders in my hard-drive.
Can someone please tell me what is going on?
It would be greatly appreciated if you can tell me what is going on(and if it can be fixed) .
Thanks!

It sounds like some of the data on your hard drive was damaged. This can be caused by improperly shutting down windows, physical damage to the drive somehow (if its a laptop, maybe it was dropped or thrown around or something), or the drive could just be going bad.
That's my guess, at least.

It's not a laptop. It is a crappy Dell PC.
Is there anyway to fix the damaged files?

Well the "weird scan thingy" was probably scandisk attempting to fix the files. Apparently it couldnt save them.

I see. Thanks for the help.
I am taking it to a specialist to see if they can restore the files.
Thanks again.

If you performed a "hard boot", meaning physically turning the computer off and back on, then there's a good chance that whatever files Vegas was accessing at the time got corrupted. Otherwise... I have no idea. Uninstall/reinstall Vegas?
