Also I'm sure if Bryan needed your assistance he'd tell us on the forums as an entirely new topic "Need New Staff!" on the forums.
Hey, avoid it all you want but you not giving much of a response doesn't provide much an argument. Ain't no hard feelings but srsly you could do that somewhere else. Just sayin'.

Like I said though, I'm looking forward to the contest.

otakugt18,
why are you so negative to everybody? You call other people rude for "advertising themselves" but you are the one being rude. it is generally understood that the things posted in a forum are opinions. this is the original design for a forum: for rants, discussions and general knowledge is shared. the forum is not supposed to be used to bring others down or to insult their opinions or attachments (to their own work or loyalties). by nature forums advertise those who join them. a username in itself is an advertisement and most give a single facet of the user him or herself. with usernames most people advertise an alternate persona of themselves while you advertise how much of a nerd you are (a bit arrogant one might say). people choose different names just as they choose different amv styles or have different opinions.

i only called ONE person rude (other than yourself when you made that whiny post. Don't deny it; you set yourself up for that one.), and that was deuce loosely. Of course if you want to pit me with the thought of myself doing that to multiple people go ahead; I don't care what you think. Get mad if you want. (It IS the intrawebs after all)

I'm not so opinionated that I hate opinions or shoot down others; this isn't 4chan and I sure as heck don't act like anyone at all who goes there. I just found it rude to, in what I saw, cock-block the thread randomly to advertise something he/she was doing. No big deal, it's just myself calling it as I saw it.

By the way, this is a REALLY old name I made when I was 18 (now 23) and ran out of ideas of usernames, and I haven't even used this account for a LONG time, so before you go randomly making this "let's make this a name game and call him an arrogant nerd while we're at it" read what I said about it. I don't even know how you derailed to talking about how it all related to everyone having a different style/name/opinion, I simply just found something that somebody found rude.

But no if you want me to act arrogant I can because I was simply being cordial. :)

being cordial is breaking down other's posts and basically telling them they are wrong?
and i'm not sure you're the same person as before (you didn't break down my post sentance by sentance this time). that is a bit annoying. and calling someone out for not replying to your post is very argumentative. so don't act like you're not doing the same things as everyone else in a forum.
its all opinions and its all us calling em as we see em.

The videos in the torture the audience category are really bad, and i think the worst video is the power rangers one, it's so bad that it made the anibad video look good. The power rangers one uses same clips over and over again, it's very annoying. The Anibad one looks bad too, but the effects are good.

LOL My son was laughing today saying if I don't win that "Your worst isn't bad enough!".

I did re-use scenes, but not enough maybe. And I just KNEW I should have added subtitles!!! Or left the cartoon network logo I added show better! :D

Stopped reading right here.

THAT IS THE POINT OF THEM GENIUS.

Why do you think it was called "Torture the Audience"? Jeez.

If I have to break down someone's post to get my point across, I do it but I don't always do it with the intention of sounding like a dick. Although if you want me to, I can very well do that too.

If someone is going to get offended because I either called them out for something or because they think honest-little-me then either it was true (and they don't like reading it) or I hit a nerve on some point and it's just annoying. TO which case I lol.

Believe me I'm the same person as I was then and as I have been, but I don't post the same way each time so I don't turn out looking like a troll every time.

Too long;didn't read summary: Please just get over yourself.

With a proud smile I can say that THAT video was a real good Torture video.

Though many think otherwise, i actually liked the DB Movie that came out recently but I was amongst the many that went "ohoooooooo!" or likewise when the sudden DB:E screenshot popped up.

Man that song will haunt me for awhile.

The Power Rangers vid was funnier but yours was absolutely more annoying. The song itself is pretty monotonous and repetitive by midway through (it's in my mp3 library somewhere, and I'll be damned if it isn't stuck on a loop in my head now). Personally, I think this "Torture" category should remain with up to five entries and be distributed as was during the contest: in between categories. I wasn't convinced that the category would work but it was executed right, and now I believe (aaaaaaaaa-men! :P). Please for to consider keeping it?

Aside from the special categories and awards, I saw plenty of evidence to support our decision at NekoCon's AMV contest to take general category voting out of the viewers' hands. They'll decide Best in Show but we're making sure nothing is miscategorized and that the playing field is leveled by having a panel of unbiased judges decide the winners.

The results? Oh, a trailer that was semi-amusing won for Comedy because that's the category it was in. A dramatic video which largely lacked action won the Action category. My initial choice for Drama didn't win but it took a second look at the winner to understand why it won. And for once I actually enjoyed the Romance entries (wonderful piece, Jaddzie, and congrats!). While I would have rather seen the "Russian dance" video win for Upbeat, the winning entry had all the special effects and extras one expects within this category.

But the thing that nailed it for me about "one viewer, one vote" was how the Best in Show award was explained. First of all, Vlad totally delivered with his entry. I voted for the "Killer Tomatoes" video to win Comedy but, as it was told, Vlad would have won that category by popular vote but was only awarded the Best in Show, making the actual 2nd place vote-getter the category winner (the trailer). The runner-up (actual 3rd place) was "Lollipop"...poor Alucard. :P Had judges been in charge of voting, I'd have to say the trailer would have been looked at as just that, Alucard might have won, and "Killer Tomatoes" would have made runner-up.

But the bottom line is this: the decision to not allow Vlad to win both category and Best in Show not only nullifies democratic vote but goes against past years when the awards were given to who won them, regardless if they won multiple awards. If a video is that good and everyone agrees, the decision shouldn't be negated because the fans thought it deserved those honors. For this reason, if the fans happen to agree that their choice for Best in Show was also our choice to win a category, so be it. The video was that good.

Never mind the fact this system will take the rabid fangirls out of the equation. It's been made evident that any video with overt yaoi references, no matter who is being shipped, will do well because of them. This way, a more stable curve is maintained. Also, since there's a substantial amount of dissension among the viewers on who "should have" won and why based on their personal criteria, a panel of judges will balance the scales for them. The yaoi fangirls won't have to hate the critics and the AMV editors won't feel like they'd been snubbed because they didn't choose the popular anime or song for the time.

*sigh*

Just sayin'. I don't mean to sound harsh but some things just struck me as "off" this year.

Anyway, congrats to the winners. And Vlad...excellent PSA! Has it been posted anywhere?
