Re: Eden of the East
After watching the finale, two movies were confirmed. The first one will be out in Japan 11/28.
The finale itself was all right, I would have liked a little more, but it was cool.

Took me awhile to get around watching it, but goddamn that was some of the best cinematography I've ever seen in anime. The fact that it's getting not one, but two movies to finish it off only makes it sweeter, as the story requires some time to fill in all the plot holes and questions it's raised over the course of it's broadcast. I can safely say that this has been the highlight of the season for me, it's been a diamond in the rough compared to the new season lineups.

Best Anime this season, and looks to be the best of the year. I loved the finale. Can't wait for some movie leaks.

Re: Eden of the East
I watched it and I think that the plot was forced pretty much upon the show, and for moments, rushed.
In some moment I felt like the characters lacked human essence unlike some other series (for those who watched the episode where "the guy gets kidnapped" will understand; it's like they keep up to naturally to it, I couldn't see them panic for even a second and that kind of surprised me, did anyone really care for him?). I think I have seen this behavior more than once, but I don't recall other.
Overall I liked it, it had a special twist; but even if it really caught me up, I feel something lacked in it. The end leaves up many questions on the series that might be answered in the movies already mentioned. I have to agree with Pas that it offers an incredible image quality and flow that is not often seen in other anime. But IMO, I doubt it would be able to earn a title like the best of the year.

Re: Eden of the East
I found it funny that they featured the PATRIOT missile system in the final episode... for the reason that I actually work on that equipment in real life. What I find disturbing is that I'm actually going to Japan soon to continue doing that job
Otherwise, this was an awesome show and I can't wait until I can watch the movies. Plus I hope this anime isn't some sort of creepy foreshadowing... especially with N. Korea

However, happily enough both movies have been extended in length.
Citing “production circumstances” as the reason for the changes, Production IG has lengthened the pair to 82 and 90 minutes, from 60 minutes each.
The first of the pair, “The King of Eden,” opens on the 28th of November.
With the TV series ending on a cliffhanger, fans will surely want to know what happened to protagonist Akira Takizawa, a cunning marketing stroke if ever there were one…
