What new effects have you been experimenting with?
This forum seems to have a lot of 'help' topics, but the description says "and discussion," so oh well... XD Anyway, I've been experimenting with patterns in effects that go with the patterns in the music, and layering effects to go with the layers in music. I've also been experimenting with simpler effects (like just adjusting color saturation and contrast to give a different look). And I've also been using keyframing a lot... It's especially useful when transitions will totally mess up your entire clip (like with event/pan crop and velocity changes). I have Sony Vegas 8 btw c:

Really? Am I allowed to post the same topic there? Or do I have to delete this one first?Slash wrote:i'm messing around with glows and shiny stuff =p tho i have a feeling this should be in the General AMV category.

Actually I think this is the right section to discuss about it.
As for me, I've been toying around with some typography as per the last couple days... not exactly effects, but...

Mostly layer-blending, combined with rotoscoping.

I don't use effects in my videos very often, but I toy with a lot of masking and subtle changes that kind of just add something extra to scenes or whatever.

That, minus the rotoscoping. But yeah, it is fun stuff.ZetZu wrote:Mostly layer-blending, combined with rotoscoping.

Re: What new effects have you been experimenting with?
I've been messing around with the Gradient Map effect. Like, making a duplicate layer of a clip, changing the bottom layer to grayscale, then masking the character on the top layer and turning them purple or something
It takes a while though, since I do all my masking in Wax, rendering the clip with a green screen, then importing into Vegas and chroma-keying out the background
I've also been experimenting with borders and stuff. Like lowering the saturation, and using the Cookie Cutter to make it transparent round the edges, then putting a grunge backround or something behind it.

Proper 60fps interpolating.
