Looking for 'Character who lost'

Post by ShatteredFoX » Thu Jul 16, 2009 3:59 pm

evening AMV org. My ex-girlfriend passed away roughly 10 months ago. Feel free to call me a softy =V. However I wish to create her an AMV on the year anniversary.

I am looking for animes that showcase a character(doesn't need to be main character. As long as he had airtime.[or she]) that has lost a loved one or someone they really care about.

Not an original theme in anime, actually pretty cliche and is in probably many of them. However I can't for the likes of me think of any.

(also no Naruto. I don't know why, I use to like Naruto but now I can't even watch an episode without getting annoyed, and I rather not waste my money buying something I hate haha.)

P.S: Ok I lied I just remembered 2

Kara No Kyoukai when Shiki was in a frozen state.
Cowboy Beebop.

Code Geass
Spoiler :
Both Suzaku and Lelouche lose someone pretty important to them. If you haven't seen the anime, it's completely worth every penny.
Rurouni Kenshin - Trust and Betrayal
Spoiler :
Kenshin's lover ends up sacrificing her own life to save him. LOTS of footage that could be used.

inb4Kanon

But seriously Kanon would be absolutely perfect.

End of Makoto story arc = Perfect

Ayu story arc = Perfect

I just realized that ever since I started making my clannad amv, I've been recommending it left and right. But either way, the end of Clannad episodes 16 and 21 of the second season are definitely what you are looking for. I guess the only problem is that the second season DVDs hasn't been released in America yet.

Oh and, the code geass episodes that Rhyzed mentioned are episodes 22 of the first season and episode 13 of the second season. The complete first season is currently out on DVD, and episodes 1-9 will of the second season will be released on August 4th. Episode 13 probably won't be released till the end of this year though.

I second the Kanon and Clannad suggestions. Pretty much *perfect*.

Sola is another one.
Spoiler :
The main boy character (I haven't seen it in so long that I forgot his name XD) leaves behind his sister and his lover, but his lover also ends up leaving, by giving her life to his sister (who is also her friend.) So in a way, everyone lost someone in that anime.
Air (TV)
Spoiler :
In the Kano arc, it explains how she lost her mother. In the Michiru/Minagi arc, Minagi loses Michiru. In the Kanna/Ryuuya arc, Ryuuya loses Kanna (his lover). and Misuzu ends up dying, leaving behind her lover (Yukito) and her aunt/mother.
There is also a movie to Air, which is just about Misuzu and Yukito (the main-main characters)

Fruits Basket
Spoiler :
In one part of the series it shows Hotori, who 'lost' his lover, because he had to erase her memory. Also, Tohru loses her mother in a car accident.
