wow, talk about a close race o.o and with the winner having only 22%, the others couldn't have been that far behind. another 60% split up between 4 videos?VicBond007 wrote: Action

Best of show winnnig with 10.9%..
Although that does not suporse me too much as I noticed in the past few years from the contests I run that voting is quite close and split between many videos... That must be a good thing (or else we are all making too many crowed pleasing videos )

Re: The Otakon 2009 thread
I really enjoyed the contest this year, the vids were fantastic =]
I agree w/ what whispersreloaded said many replies back, I was pretty disappointed the Sunlight and Love Disconnected both didn't place at all. Those were prolly my two of my favorite vids of the contest XD
Anyways, can't wait to dl some of da vids :33

If you think about it the category has 6 videos which means each one gets 16.6666 (repeating of course) percent of the vote on average. so if you get more than 1/6 of the vote you are already above average ^^whispersreloaded wrote:wow, talk about a close race o.o and with the winner having only 22%, the others couldn't have been that far behind. another 60% split up between 4 videos?VicBond007 wrote: Action

i guess the same applies to the best in show, too... anyone who got over 3% was really a crowd pleaser!

Idk, I think my av is a pretty good representation of me IRL. And probably more talkative.chui101 wrote:... up until that point i'm mostly chatting with .gif and .jpg's, but to know who is behind that avatar makes it completely different.
Anyway, [late] congrats to all the winners! Looks like I have some vids to dl. Wish I could have been there though. Hopefully next year. *^_^*

Re: The Otakon 2009 thread
A big thank you to Vic, Jeff, Amanda, and all the other associated staff and volunteers (especially those who counted votes on Saturday after the contest; that must be a pretty thankless job) who made this contest come together! The AMV contest is always one of the highlights of the con for me, and this one certainly didn't disappoint.

It's good to know Otakon's contest still has the same perceived prestige it did six years ago. There was a time when some of us were worried it might be losing its elite status. Better perception of the contest = better videos and better viewing for everyone!deuceloosely wrote:Not really a "rite of passage," but more like "I finally made it" or "broke into the big leagues."chui101 wrote:oh, is that the rite of passage into the .org?deuceloosely wrote:I swear I'll never feel like a real part of this community until I get an entry into the Otakon finals.
Actually, Action was the only category to have seven videos.chui101 wrote:If you think about it the category has 6 videos which means each one gets 16.6666 (repeating of course) percent of the vote on average. so if you get more than 1/6 of the vote you are already above average ^^whispersreloaded wrote:wow, talk about a close race o.o and with the winner having only 22%, the others couldn't have been that far behind. another 60% split up between 4 videos?VicBond007 wrote:Action
