Last Exile textless OP\ED
Years ago, I bought the last exile complete set for around $14 off Ebay. As you might guess, it turned out to be quite plainly bootlegged.
My question however, I've decided to start collecting the proper DVDs now that they've come down in price. But I'd like to know, do all the volumes contain the textless OP\ED, or is it just very specific ones?

Re: Last Exile textless OP\ED
I just checked my dvds: volume 1 has the textless op, volume 2 has the textless ed.
I assume this back-and-forth continues through all volumes. Even if it doesn't, you'll be getting both of those anyway.

I checked my box set.

Re: Last Exile textless OP\ED
I know that if you buy the DVDs individually, at least, one has textless OP and another textless ED.

Well that answers my second question. :/Ishbalan wrote:I checked my box set.

Could someone who owns the individual dvds say something about the quality of the extras in general?
Right now it's looking to be cheaper to get one individual for a textless OP and then the boxset for the rest of the series.
Oh, and can someone also confirm what the quality level of the box set is? 4 discs for a 26 episode series sounds only slightly less suspicious than the bootleg I already own.

The Funimation re-issues of Geneon (aka. Pioneer) series have been issued sans extras so far. Especially the ones on just 4 DVDs for a 24 to 26 episode show. The general feedback from these new sets is that the picture quality is on-par with the original individual releases, but the extras get the boot to fit it all on the DVDs.
Here's the extras from the original Pioneer/Geneon DVDs (by disc):
DVD1: Non-Credit Opening, Original Japanese Opening, Promotion Trailer, Staff Interview with Mahiro Maeda, Art Gallery, and Previews
DVD2: Non-Credit Ending, Original Japanese Ending, Commercial Collections, Art Gallery, and Previews
DVD3: Art Gallery, Previews
DVD4: LAST EXILE Exhibition in Tokyo, Art Gallery, and Previews
DVD5: Textless Opening Version 2, Art Gallery, Previews
DVD6: Art Gallery and Previews
DVD7: Previews
So for the clean OP you need to get volume 1. And volume 2 for the clean ED.
Right Stuf has the individual DVDs and a bunch of bundles on closeout for cheap, but they are sold out of DVD 7. Assuming you can get that disc, buying the 3-pack set for $10 and the rest of the volumes for $4, you get the entire series for $26. (Right Stuf search results for "Last Exile")

Ah ha! Thank you, that's just what I needed.
Unfortunately volume 7 isn't really available new anywhere for under $20. But the deals for the other individuals are good enough that I can wait for a bit.
