Gonna agree with this, as was the case in your previous AMV was just visual overload, or to be more precise, lack of any link between scenes. Transitions, although smooth in terms of fading, feel jarring. There's too much to look at, and because of this it's hard to focus on any one particular thing, splitting up the viewers attention.Ishbalan wrote:This song is sweet and touching, and its meant to be done with such that reflects the feeling of it. Your clips went by way too fast.
Secondly, and this is the big part, was the typography. I appreciate the effort you put into adding it, really, I think it could work. But there were two problems. Firstly, the typefaces. I have nothing against you using whatever typeface you want, but if you pick one, you really should stick to it, or at most pick your top 3 and rotate between them. I didn't count, but I'm sure I saw at least a dozen different typefaces, often being put in the same phrases. In a sense it fit with what was going on with your sources (in terms of a huge quantity blended together) but as I pointed out, didn't work for either, at least for me. My second point was that the type didn't at any point really fit with the video, with only a few occasions where it did look decent.
If you could take one point from my post, it would be this: Less is more. It's great to see you putting in this much effort and really experimenting with your videos, but to be honest it ends up looking like an uncoordinated random jumble of scenes, flashing colours and text.
Ok, now that we've got that out of the way. The Kannagi part. Was. Awesome.
Everything is forgiven. Almost. Zange.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, but one thing I did enjoy about this was the mood. Despite all the visual inconsistencies and flaws, much like your previous AMV, you've managed to achieve a really nice mood matching the song, which is great. I just wish that you would consider maintaining a more consistent and toned down take on the video.
