Gonna agree with this, as was the case in your previous AMV was just visual overload, or to be more precise, lack of any link between scenes. Transitions, although smooth in terms of fading, feel jarring. There's too much to look at, and because of this it's hard to focus on any one particular thing, splitting up the viewers attention.

Secondly, and this is the big part, was the typography. I appreciate the effort you put into adding it, really, I think it could work. But there were two problems. Firstly, the typefaces. I have nothing against you using whatever typeface you want, but if you pick one, you really should stick to it, or at most pick your top 3 and rotate between them. I didn't count, but I'm sure I saw at least a dozen different typefaces, often being put in the same phrases. In a sense it fit with what was going on with your sources (in terms of a huge quantity blended together) but as I pointed out, didn't work for either, at least for me. My second point was that the type didn't at any point really fit with the video, with only a few occasions where it did look decent.

If you could take one point from my post, it would be this: Less is more. It's great to see you putting in this much effort and really experimenting with your videos, but to be honest it ends up looking like an uncoordinated random jumble of scenes, flashing colours and text.

Ok, now that we've got that out of the way. The Kannagi part. Was. Awesome.

Everything is forgiven. Almost. <3 Zange.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, but one thing I did enjoy about this was the mood. Despite all the visual inconsistencies and flaws, much like your previous AMV, you've managed to achieve a really nice mood matching the song, which is great. I just wish that you would consider maintaining a more consistent and toned down take on the video.

I liked this vid  Some parts I do agree that you go overboard, its not good to blend 5 anime in at once, maybe limit to 2 or 3, since your eyes wander all over the place trying to find a focus point. And yeah I think the encore was actually the highlight of the vid <3

The Kannagi part. Was. Awesome.
Thanks for the comments;... maybe i'm trying too hard considering i only spent ONE day doing the kanangi part...
and months doing the first part. >.<'

but that happens a lot with AMV's i guess.

Thanks again everyone

First of all, you used a bombardment of colorful animation from various shonen series and some touchy-feely-ones, which I usually enjoy, but it could not have contasted with the music in a greater way. This song is sweet and touching, and its meant to be done with such that reflects the feeling of it. Your clips went by way too fast.
This is how it was done right.

Secondly, Pico & Chico?
Fuck no. Closed. Deleted. Emptied recycle bin. Good day and come again.
Thanks, I appreciate your feelings, but i decided not to follow that AMV because i'd rather not be accused of copying it...
Besides, that video you showed me has breast nudity :)
Why are you complaining about pico x chico?

so yea, i tried to take a different take on it to target the audience 'directly', like the characters are speaking to the viewers

Ooooh! Terry... hey, you were quiet there for a while. I'm guessing you're back for the Manifest times!

I think we're having another Editor's Dinner on Friday of Manifest so I'll try to get in touch with you to come along.

Anyway, I'm at work... so... I'll download this video when I get home :P

Psssst....she says timeless dream, not time this dream.

This video makes me feel old because I have this album ... on casette :X

I found the second part fun, the first part I have to agree that it was wayy too overloaded for such a soft song. The pacing didn't match at all.

You're showing here a copy less interesting of your celebrating a decade of anime |: (I don't want to sound hard, just an opinion)

ahh. .yes.. work.. having to work was my main hindrance for this year's amv..

Also, melbourne anime festival came too early..hehe, otherwise my AMV would be much more hated by everyone as it'll be full blown with effects had i the time to over-do it..ahahaha...

I look forward to the convention. How come its not listed on a-m-v.org? :D

Duude why the rush? This song is long enough. No need for such heavy amount of rotoscoping but if, do it smoother or otherwise to a faster song like that one from the OMG 2,5 MINUTES CREDIT VIDEO. Just split them into 2 seperated full videos as both did work in there own way but very different when being played one after another (like here). Also when the first video did fade out between 3:32 and 3:49 there really isn't any need for that much action-synch. BTW i really liked the part between 2:09 and 2:16 what i think is sad cause all of you vid should have been in this slower and more chillin way to match the song. That's it! You definitly have skills but totally waste them. Just try to catch the mood of the song - it isn't that hard - or work with a faster one!
