scripts won't open

Post by ShatteredFlame » Sat Sep 26, 2009 10:10 pm

For some reason recently every time I open up any avisynth script in VirtualDubMod(or Avisynth, whatever) I keep getting this error:

"AVI Import Filter error: (Unknown) (80040154)"

I haven't installed anything recently that might have messed this up. Just 2 weeks ago I could import stuff, now it can't. I can for some reason import regular vobs, avis, mp4s and the likes just fine. BTW I'm importing d2v's via MPEG2Source, so I don't see why it says "avi import". Help please!

Gotta reinstall avisynth, buddy. Your registry is lacking some information, from what I gather thanks to google.

JohnnyMalaria wrote:80040154 means in MS-speak that the program (Virtual Dub) is trying to create an instance of a filter or something similar but Windows can't create it. This is usually because a filter hasn't been registered. You need to identify the filters that are supposed to be used and then use regsvr32 <filter file> for each one to ensure the registry has all the right information.

On Vista, sometimes filters don't get installed properly when using a normal Windows installer package. This is because the package doesn't allow for Vista's user access control. Usually, though, the installation of the package will fail.

And now I got another problem. The scripts work in vdm but MakeAVIS can't open them. It says "Error In AVIFileOpen". Now I don't want to touch ffdshow because it always messes shit up so is there a better program that allows you to create fake avis?

I use Vfapi. No problems with it yet. You can find it in the AMVAPP.

Try AVFS (needs Pismo File Mount) as suggested in the latest version of the eadfag.

VFAPI can have issues too... avfs has been found to be working safely for more people so far.
