Wait... how exactly does it take more or less work to allow for certain things and ban others?
Run the contest how you want, but do your audience a favor and name it what it is - "hentai" includes what you are excluding, so that word alone is not appropriately descriptive of the event you are running. State in the title that you're being exclusive/prohibitive/exclusionary/(however you want to word it) and see how that helps/harms your submission rate and event attendance. Transparency is a good thing. It'll make the people that are afraid of the things you seem to be afraid of more comfortable with coming and it'll let the people that disagree know not to waste their time. It's a win/win. (in the echo-chamber mentality sort of way)

Again he forgets that it's not HIS contest. It is a Fanime Contest, that he is running/supporting vis his group. Which means that what happens reflects on Fanime. And frankly this contest is reflecting on Fanime VERY poorly at this point, which I'm sure Fanime doesn't want, and which you would take into account if you actually cared about helping out the convention vs yourself.

Hi everyone,
this jerry head of video programming for Fanimecon.
1st this is not a fanimecon event we are just hosting it.
2nd let me please put a stop to this and let me find out whats going on with the current situation at hand. we would still love this event to happen that Cthulhu for president has brought to our door step.
so please reframe from posting anymore.
thank you!

no yaoi but yuri is ok?AndreVSWorld wrote:I'm working on the formal rules at the moment, but to answer some of your questions:
No Yaoi (different target audience. Might be able to sponsor it next year, but one year at a time)
No Guro (eww)
No Scat (eww)
"Lesbian" hentai is okay, although I've yet to really see much hardcore Yuri
Futanari is allowed
All characters must appear to be over 18 or at least not appear to break any laws
mirkosp, I'm not sure what you mean. Since this is the HMV awards you probably want to have some hentai in it. If the people want it I might create some kind of tease/blue balls category.
wat?
