Is Xam'd worth the watch?
At my local Best Buy, a short preview for this anime plays on the PS3 display nearly everytime I go there. I usually watch it, and I think the animation looks fantastic. I just watched the opening sequence on... you know, that video site I'm not allowed to mention here for some reason, despite it being the most popular website on the internet and a great way to get your talent noticed. Er, anyway, the opening had such a nice song and art that my jaw was hanging open the whole time I watched. So after that I thought there was no reason I shouldn't watch this anime. Then I saw this thread. Looks to me like most people here either think the series is totally incredible or just okay. That kind of made me ask myself if it was really worth watching.
Who thinks I should watch it? It seems unanimous here that the ending sucks, but that's okay. Whenever I hear a series I'd like to watch has a bad ending, I still watch it, I just have to go in not expecting alot from the ending. Then, it always turns out to be really good. If you do think I should watch this series, how and when should I do it? Should I watch this or Fullmetal Alchemist next? (Yeah, I haven't watched Fullmetal Alchemist yet, but I will as soon as I finish off Ghost in the damn Shell 2nd Gig)
Also, I have a ten-year-old brother who is also an anime fan. He has expressed interest in watching this show for a while now. Would it be appropriate for him to watch? Because my parents are (of course) not the biggest anime fans, they usually leave it up to me to decide what's appropriate for him. I usually select what animes he is allowed to watch off of a list of animes I've watched and know to be appropriate for him. He's really mature for a kid, and my parents are alright with him watching anything as long as it's no gorier than, say, Princess Mononoke, and has no nudity. They let him watch Evangelion, for instance. Does this series fit those guidelines?
Sorry about all my questions. Thanks in advance.

Re: Xam'd: Lost Memories
I would definitely recommend watching it. The music is pretty nice (especially that OP song. For some reason they changed a bunch of OPs and EDs for the TV broadcast in Japan, but you'll probably find the series subbed online with the OP sequence you saw) and the storyline is quite unique. It's from the same team who made Eureka seveN, so that was the first reason that hooked me in at first mention of it. Though the animation is similar to E7, the storyline certainly isn't.
I can honestly say that Xam'd really does stand out from the rest (just like E7 does for me) and though the ending could have needed some work, it was decent. (Although the last song that plays is really beautiful ) If you're brother was allowed to watch Evangelion, he can definitely watch this. xD
