Final anime adaptation of Ranma1/2 from manga

After a new OVA of Ranma ½ (The Insense of Spring Sleep, in 2008) was released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Rumiko Takahashi, and the continuation and final of Inuyasha; “Rumic World” (furinkan.com), Ranma.ch and thousands of fans all around the world are uniting to get behind a push for more Ranma ½
We want to see Ranma 1/2 final anime adaptation from manga 37th and 38th volume.

The petitionis in Japanese (because let's face it, Japanese fans are the ones that are going to have to make this happen first before the rest of us can get it), the only you need to do is follow this “handy guide” to help you fill out the form. After filling it out, you will receive an email to confirm your signature.

Although, there are more than one petition on-line, we mustn’t discourage for the fact to sign another, ‘cause if there is more than one petition on internet, is because people like you and me still want the same, and thousands of fans in the world will do everything to achieve it.

Personally, this petition has given me lots of expectations for something I’ve wanted for years, and is, see the conclusion of Ranma ½ in anime.
Buy the coming DVD box of It’s a Rumic World OVAs on January 29. Surely, the more people buy the DVD, the more possibility Ranma new OVAs would be made.

Signing the Japanese petition will not help unless you are committing yourself to purchasing R2 DVDs. Even if we assume that licensing groups from other countries would be able to get ahold of the new OVAs, the primary interest for the Japanese companies is being able to sell a set number of DVD sets at a set price. You would need to clearly indicate you are the same as a Japanese consumer; that is, that you would purchase, or even pre-order to OVA set as an R2 without subtitles. Otherwise it really is up to the Japanese fans entirely.

Yes. I live in Japan (lol, meme), and I have purchased R2 sets. The anime industry here doesn't bank on overseas licensing agreements. In fact, the Japanese model is to calculate the highest possible price otaku are willing to pay for a limited run of a given set. This means that the goal is the maximise profits while minimising the amount of actual materials used in production.

And that's just the boxed sets, which are somewhat secondary to the real goal of anime: to make money for syndication purchasers. Unless programs are good vehicles for advertising dollars (or yen, as the case may be), the TV industry will not purchase syndication rights for a series. DVD/Blu Ray sales come in a distant second, and only in the limited way described above.

In either case, the Japanese consumer is primary to the thinking. In the end, no one really cares about you or other overseas fans.
