Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Re: MEP - ATORI
Not bad, although my main reason for watching was all the lolz comments in this thread.
Lots of decent technical effort, but it just feels like a ripoff of every amv ripoff I've seen for the past few years. When I thought it was over, it just kept going on and on. If it weren't for the hilarious comments that people leave here, I wouldn't bother watching most videos nowadays.

Re: MEP - ATORI
I wouldn't be able to remember such a ripoff from another AMV, probably I missed that one AMV or maybe I have forgotten (not that I remember too much of AMVs I have seen though), anyway I would be able to say that this didn't look as bad as I really thought it would from what I could read. And unless it was a direct rip-off from another AMV, I would say it was pretty decent, if the execution has the same results without taking nothing directly from another AMV, I don't see which would be the problem (did you ever think that the editor maybe hasn't even seen that AMV?).
I agree with the fact that it looks like a compilation of AMV's instead of a MEP, if I were to separate each amv it would have practically the same effect. That is something that affected the most this MEP. The quality of the sound was also bad in some parts.
I liked the Ergo Proxy part the best, it looked like a good combination of effects to suit the video. What I didn't like, though, is that it was hard to find sense in most of the amv's, adding up the fact that there were japanese songs where I could get nothing from the lyrics (and I even find it hard to understand english lyrics ).
I felt that in most clips, due to the fast pace of the song and the editing style, there wasn't any impact as there should be in most AMV's (an important beat in song or something like that).
I kinda liked some of it, even though I have passed some clips, maybe I'll add something more later, but good job

I started off determined to like the video just because Reda didn't. Anything reda doesn't like must have some merit, right? Somewhere around the second minute I found myself thinking 'good god, reda is actually right. That's astounding. He's actually got something right once!'

The lack of admin intervention is the reason asshaulery flourishes here evidently.
Well I enjoyed it's silliness for the most part though I'm doubting you were intending for it to be enjoyed that way. Most of the FX felt unbecoming/corny to the anime, quick example would be 3:04 or 2:07ish... I get what you were goin for at those parts but the execution for the FX there just didn't work IMO. Some of the FX were really well done though, most of them being on the ergo proxy track and the Maria Holic track. Only two tracks I liked actually. The maria holic track was great, simple smooth editing, didn't seem like any of the FX were forced for eyecandy either.
If i could just rate the last 2 tracks it would be 5/5 but as a whole the MEP is 3/5 for me if numbers matter to you.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Admins won't remove your shit just because you don't like a video; you're actually ALLOWED to do that here believe it or not.Eva-Fan wrote:The lack of admin intervention is the reason asshaulery flourishes here evidently.
